GamesRadar - No, Sony didn't announce a sequel to PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale. But we're not ready to give up on this franchise. On the contrary--we hope this is just the beginning. We're thinking it could go yearly, with each iteration adding new retro characters, as well as a smattering of heroes from that year's releases. While Nintendo's Smash Bros. aims to be timeless, PSASBR can be a yearly brawl of the best characters. If Sony plays its cards right, it could be the proving ground for new heroes. Here's who we hope makes the cut next time, if there is a next time.
Jacob St-Amour from Link-Cable Writes: "PlayStation All-Stars: Battle Royale wasn’t the smash hit that Sony had thought it would have been, but was still able to find its footing with many dedicated fans still hoping for a new title to eventually come out. If a new entry in the series is to ever make its way on either the PS4 or on the upcoming PS5, there would certainly need an overhaul with its roster of combatants. With 16 returning characters, eight new first-party fighters as well as six third-party newcomers, we’ve completed an exciting new roster for a potential sequel to PlayStation All-Stars: Battle Royale."
Switch out Ellie & Atreus for Deacon & someone else

Is it me or is PSAS gaining buzz lately? I'd like to see a sequel to this and another Mod Nation Racers
They would be better off making a deal with Nintendo to have their characters on Smash Ultimate because let's face it: there's no way they could possibly surpass it and accusations of Sony ripping it off would just come out again like last time.
While the first game didn't land as gracefully as planned, a lot of people out there liked what PlayStation All-Stars was trying to do. So let's make a case for a PlayStation All-Stars 2.
I have a cool idea for a crossover fighter, I wonder if I create it in Dreams, would Sony take notice.
I hope it gets a second chance in some form, but I worry that in the shadow of Smash Bros, it won't be able to find its own voice. A lot of people will still call it a Smash Bros. clone, regardless of what happens. I wish more people gave it a chance, though. It's a lot of fun!
Just make knocking off lives the same as Smash and not via using a super which is what kill the first game.
Sequels seem almost inevitable in gaming, so why hasn't Sony done PS All-Stars 2? Because Nintendo took all the good characters.
I think there is room for both, I would certainly buy a new ASBR and I already have SSB Ult.
Looking at the amount of intense star power Super Smash Bros has garnered over the years from guest characters has me even more furious that a relative nobody like Isaac Clarke made it onto PSASBR’s roster.
His amount of relevancy may have been on par with Bayonetta’s since their 7th gen games come out close together one year apart, but at least she’s flanked by more impressive guest characters. Isaac on other hand isn’t so lucky since plenty of third party PlayStation icons didn’t make it in, which just makes his inclusion that much more frustrating.
No Cloud Strife, Solid Snake, Crash Bandicoot, Spyro the Dragon, Kazuma Kiryu, Lara Croft, Ryu, Alucard, or Yu Narukami. Many of Sony’s own first party notable characters didn’t even make it in. But Isaac Fkn Clarke sure did.
The main issue I had with most of the guest characters in PSASBR is it felt they were only included to promote an upcoming 2013 game rather than just having them there to actually celebrate the history of the PlayStation brand.
- Donte for DmC: Devil May Cry
- Raiden for Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance
- Big Daddy for Bioshock: Infinite
- Isaac Clarke for Dead Space 3
Heihachi is at least a legitimate PS icon so I’d forgive him being there to promote Tekken Tag Tournament 2. But I can’t forgive most of the other guest inclusions. I’d prefer Solid Snake over Raiden and classic Dante over reboot Dante, Big Daddy is from a series that debuted on Xbox 360 & Isaac Clarke is such a bland incarnation there’s no point discussing how wrong it is he made it in over the likes of Cloud, Crash, Spyro or even Lara.
Super Smash Bros on the other hand would include characters such as Mega Man, Simon & Richter Belmont, & Banjo and Kazooie just because of their iconic statuses even if they came from at the time dormant series. PSASBR instead eschewed brand associative characters and focused on promotion characters that would seem outdated years after their respective games came out and you’re wondering why they’re even on the roster over more iconic PlayStation characters.
If Sony did take another approach at this I’d hope they’d make an extensive roster that felt timeless & gratifying.
As long as they stop that crappy system where you can only kill someone using a super
People are going to compare it to Smash Bros REGARDLESS of what you do. So embrace it and let us knock people off the stage by damaging their health loads
You know what it was like seeing the same super animation over and over. Sigh
I want Keira from Jak and Daxter.
It starts....Crash, Spyro, Snake, and Cloud...
Sora!!!
