Isn’t it a grand day? It’s Valentines day after all, the day of romance and love. This is the day that people share their adoration for their significant other more than any other. It’s a day of hearts, roses, and chocolates. Well apparently Nintendo is one that forgot what today is and Sony definitely won’t be sending any chocolates or roses their way. It’s actually rather ironic that Nintendo chose today, Valentines day, to hold their Nintendo Direct Conference online.

Its true. Well said jukins. Man it would have been very very interesting to see 3DS and Vita go head to head at the same price of 250. I think Vita would have been very competitive. Nintendo are scared shytless to be the same price as any sony console. They know their weak hardware would be exposed.

@Seraphemz, but there is a GoW games and uncharted and little big planet, and So on and so forth but Sony doesn't re-use its standing franchises right no, they never do that.

Outside of the mario party games, the majority of the 1st party games are solid, why don't you mention professor layton and the revived kid icarus to name a few hmmm? In terms of graphical quality yeah the vita can churn out better games, but still people rather run to the handheld with more games. What was the last Luigi game or yoshi???? Pokemon yeah i'll give you that but each iteration improves the gameplay and story of the past one or its been like that in recent years.

Its a business these companies are running, if Quality isn't selling then they'll find something that will, which is why companies like activision sit on CoD, because there is no need for them to go out of what makes them tons of money.

@Sera ......seriously just because 3DS uses the same established Nintendo characters does not mean in anyway that they are in fact the same game. Yes the 3DS has Mario.........but Super Mario Land 3D is a completely different game then Super Mario Galaxy 2. The same thing can be said about a game like Fire Emblem Radiant Dawn on Wii and Fire Emblem Awakening on 3DS. The may be the same genre in the same series, but they are not exactly the same game.

Then their are games like Kid Icarus, which can't be found on any Nintendo home console.

Even games that are really similiar like Mario Kart 7 or New Super Mario bros 2 may play exactly like the home console versions, but they have completely different levels.

Now compare that with Vita games like Play Station All Stars which plays and looks just like the PS3 version, or Metal Gear Solid HD collection, Marvel vs Capcom 3 etc. Those games are clones of the home console versions. That's the difference.....they don't play or look any different, don't have different characters or stages, the stories are the same etc.

That is why Vita is doing poorly, Sony markets the machine as a portable PS3....and people don't want that. They want a different gaming experience from portable games. Portable games are ment to be played as "pick up and play type games" and not ment to be played for hours like console games.

Of course there are some players who will love having a console experience in their pocket, but they are not the mass market, as can be seen with system sales.The Vita does nothing to differentiate itself from the PS3 and that's a problem.

They need to learn that certain games need to be made just for Vita and to build the Vita name. When a game like Pokemon drops, everyone knows its on a Nintendo portable system. Sure the series has spin offs that go to home consoles, but the main games are portable and that's the type of thing Sony doesn't have.

Oh and CaptainN - Gravity Rush is a prime example of a game just for Vita, and soon Soul Sacrifice is coming out...and im sure there will be more.

3ds and Vita arent going anywhere... I just know that I will get better quality with Vita then with 3ds, so i dont mind spending the extra money.

Nintendo's focus on the portable market is probably why the Wii U is currently not doing so well, especially now with the Rayman Legends delay and lost exclusivity. With regards to release line-ups, the 3DS is to the Vita as the PS3 is to the Wii U. It saddens me to admit this as a Wii U day-one buyer, still only owning two games.

However, speaking also as a Vita day-one buyer, I'm still very glad I bought one. I do sometimes fall back on PSP and PSOne games (I'm currently playing through the excellent Final Fantasy IX), which isn't so much due to a lack of native Vita games, but more because I tend to wait for price drops before buying - which is incidentally something that rarely tends to happen on Nintendo games.

So for what it's worth, I personally feel like Sony has a better balance than Nintendo. Whilst my portable gaming time is limited to the daily commute and occasional vacation away from home, my home gaming time often runs to many hours per week. With that, I simply need more games to play on the home system than I do on the handheld, as titles are exhausted much more quickly.

Here's a real example: I completed every PS3 Uncharted game within two days of starting it, which I can verify from my trophy timestamps for these games. Compare Uncharted: Golden Abyss on the Vita, which took me twelve days to complete according to the trophy data.

At that speed, I simply don't need a ton of games on my portable system like I do on my home consoles.

congratz, on your Uncharted complete's, I am of the same i have like 9 games on my PSVita and with a 8 GB card i still have over 2 GB left, I have some PS1 games and Some of the PSVita games right now are taking all my time on the system, because i have not completed them yet.

when i hear , why would i play PS3 ports on my PSVita, i can tell many have not played the PSVita because even when they call the game a port, its not a port of the PS3 game because they have not played the d@mn game . Uncharted :GA is not a d@mn Port and if they played the PSVita they would know full well its not!

I just don't get the problem people have with ports. That was the whole reason I bought the vita! I want real cod and not the crap they gave me! I want real NBA 2k! Original ips are cool too but there are times when I just don't want to turn on my console and I want to sit in the bed and play console games! I've had the psp and original ds and thats why the sat in my closet collecting dust because I wanted as close to console experience as possible! Why not? I am enjoying my vita and highly anticipating killzone mercenary! I just bought a 3ds xl but so far I can't find games that are for me! Every thing seems to deal with mario and while I was a kid I played mario but now im not really in to that. Never really liked resident evil games but may pick it up anyway. Hopefully Nintendo brings some more mature games out but I do like the 3d feature. I don't have loyalty to either side, I'm a gamer, I just want games!

Nintendo and M$ feeling real salty right now. Who cares about the 3ds. Where's the games for the Wii u? They have none so now they want to talk about the 3ds. Which until the price drop was also not selling well.

Once the price drops on the vita it will pick up some sells. What I don't understand is why they won't release a dragon hunter or dragon quest for the vita. It would fly off the shelves.

To be honest the 3ds isn't flying of the shelves here in the states. The majority of the sells are coming from Japan.

3DS is a toy. Vita is a grown man machine. I play Madden on the Vita and its the closest you can get to a real madden. I bought the madden on 3ds when it came out....boy was it a joke, it was madden for lil ass kids..like my son and daughter bruh. Look at what kind of games these is for 3DS.."KID GAMES". Vita got shooters, rpg, racing, sports (MLB and Madden is hella sick),etc etc. People that say Vita is a toy, I promise you that they little themselves. Just sayin.
