turning point had a really great story / concept... it just was very generic in its game play.

LucasRuinedChildhood97d ago (Edited 97d ago )

Haze is a bad game but Turning Point: Fall Of Liberty makes it seem like a captivating work of art. haha. Fuck that game

Shellshock 2: Blood Trails isn't on this list but it might be the worst game I've ever played. I got it as a present from my mam and when I saw the box, my life flashed before my eyes thinking of the Metacritic score: https://www.metacritic.com/...

I also received Turning Point: Fall Of Liberty as a present from another family member. Bless their hearts for trying but ... oh Lord. My uncle gave my Prince Of Persia: Sands Of Time and MGS2 though. 😎

DarXyde97d ago (Edited 97d ago )

Was it really that bad? I recall trying the demo and not liking it, but that's just me not liking FPS games.

People I know who played it and like FPS games mostly came to the conclusion that it has a lot of room for improvement, but it's not nearly as bad as it's made out to be.

Don't know, my opinion on these games should be taken with a grain of salt.

mastershredder97d ago

Oof! yeah, Ride was a huge fumble they tried to market twice.
Haven Fall of the King was dog-shi7-tastic and should be a runner up to some of those.
I'd even nominate Legend of Kay. Heh Haze... there is no excuse for that one (just pretend Haze did not happen).

Blades of Time - The Game that Time Forgot

Blades of Time launched 10 years ago today, and has been all-but forgotten since. That's a shame however, as it had some interesting ideas.

I actually enjoyed what I played of the (prequel, I think?) X-Blades. It had some really rough edges, but what was there was quite fun to be fair.

kevco33736d ago

X-Blades was the first title, Blades of Time was a sequel (with a very different look!).

gurp736d ago

I played X-Blades a little, but never even heard of this game

annoyedgamer737d ago

Definitely from the better days of gaming. Just look at her...

CrimsonWing69735d ago

Actually looks female, I almost forgot they did character designs like that back in the day.

drizzom735d ago

Said the same thing myself. I run into lots of games nowadays that try to run as far away from what a female looks like (some games are even afraid to call them female in character creation lol).

Godmars290735d ago

Only it exemplified a problem that in turn got over exaggerated by social political exploiters.

annoyedgamer735d ago

Only in America is an attractive female considered a
"problem".

SeTTriP735d ago

Stop voting Democrat wolves in sheep skin.

And I'm a inter city black American by the time we realized it, it was to late and they Trojan horse that $h!t.

Godmars290735d ago

The only "problem" the game had was that its only real selling point was an attractive female.

FreeckyCake736d ago

It's an okay game, not the best, but not the worst either. I found that the game got annoying towards the end, especially that final boss fight. But hey, compared to X-Blades? Blades of Time is a huge improvement. Just look at the cover art!

Hope they make a comeback next gen

PrimeVinister1444d ago

There were a few non-film ones back on PS2/GC that were really good.
I can imagine the cinematic elements of those games would look even better now.

DaReapa1443d ago

Everything or Nothing is my second best Bond game behind Goldeneye 64, followed by Nightfire.

fulldeepdive1443d ago

we have a lot of great video games and we have a lot coming out this year...lame

Godmars2901443d ago

What's happened to the James Bond franchise in general?

It, much like Star Trek, Star Wars, has had too much of the "real world" shoved down their throats. That plus people with agendas hijacking them thinking they can use brand value to deliver "transformative" messaging while lacking the awareness, the creative talent, needed to make them entertaining at even a base level.

Also, getting back on subject, doesn't help that movie studios don't see gaming studios as equals who need as much if not more time to do their jobs right.

Tross1443d ago (Edited 1443d ago )

Yeah, come to think of it. Maybe their absence can be attributed to the falling popularity of the videogame adaptation or even the licensed franchise tie-in, as well as the gaming landscape being quite different now than it was. The Bond titles filled a niche of FPS-action titles, the likes of which are not exactly uncommon nowadays. That said, the Bond games were a fun take on the genre that I'd like to see return one day.

DaReapa1443d ago

Activision's tenure with the license attributed to the lack of quality games.

roadkillers1443d ago

That's true. You couldn't get past the PS2 days without a movie tie in. Now, I can't think of the last game tie in.. even Star Wars was different
