Yeah, but this isn't Super Smash Bro's is it? And I wouldn't say Smash bro's was forgiving or accessible. The better players will win. And fighter's SHOULD be like that. If you've taken the time to learn the moves of a specific character, then you should be able to beat the players who haven't bothered.
It's like the guy from Gamespot who said character's had too many moves, and that it was too complex then goes on to say it's a button masher. I don't understand this mentality...

Anyway, there's a lot of this review that is BS. All I'll say is All-stars is not a 1 out of 5. Despite how some people think it compares to Smash Bro's, whether better or worse, it's not a 1 out 5. Tom Chick does it again

Any respectable gaming critic knows this is not a one star game.
Even the critics that don't particularly like the game gave it a higher score than a 1 out of 5 because they know it has it's good points.

Yeah, I don't see where he's coming from at all. Super Smash could be incredibly unforgiving too, which is kind of what made it fun. I'd say the same for All-Stars. They're both more unpredictable than your average fighting game, but skill still matters a lot. I'd say All-Stars is less accessible, but then again the characters are more different from one another, and the difference between them in terms of strategy is bigger too.

...and that kind of leads us to why All-stars is not that much of a clone. It has its own identity! Please deal.

It seems like some reviewers are angry at superbot for so called "copying" smash bros and they give it low scores. Based off of metacritic the positive reviews outweigh the negative ones, but most of the time I just judge a game by playing it rather than an individuals opinion and this game is absolutely not a 1/5.

Exactly, the fact that he is even on Metacritic is ridiculous. Take his review away and PSASBR has a 78 Metascore, and while I take Metascores with a pound of salt, some consumers put a lot of weight in Metascores. 4 points might make an average consumer reconsider their purchase of the game. Same with Halo 4. It's now one of the lowest scored Halo games, which it wasn't before Tom Chick's review went up. Metacritic really needs to consider the content and veracity of a critics work, not just the volume of it as it seems they currently do (they require around 100 reviews before they will approve a site).

Which is why metacritic is irrelevant. This day in age everybody and their grandmothers have sites.

Halo 4 is the highest rated Halo according to the more respectable gaming sites/mags. Add the random garbage like this and you get a significant drop in the average.

Do yourself a favor, don't use metacritic, find 2 or 3 good sites/mags and stick with them. I personally stick with Game Informer and IGN.
