The point I would like to direct your attention to as gamers, however, is that Starhawk IS STILL a great game. Really, it's a lot of fun. And it will still be, despite this unfortunate news. I read one comment on a social network about how Starhawk was a great game. Look for a room - there's matches out there. Not to mention the campaign. Another comment asked if there will be any more maps. No, probably not, but there have been new maps released as free DLC, and at 15 competitive and six cooperative, I'd say there's a good amount there to enjoy right now. And for those that are concerned an online game won't see support, ask those that have played Starhawk from the beginning (there was even a beta), and they'll attest a lot of work went into making it what it is now. If not one thing changed from today forth, that wouldn't be such a bad thing. Even still, Sony Santa Monica will continue to support Starhawk.

Odd choices for "best" more like you settled as these being the "best" that available to you at the time, cause a lot of these blow or were average to poor performers that ended up in bargain bin.
Missing too many great sci-fi titles here. The Void, The Resistance Series, Killzone 2 and 3, Enslaved, man.. there were so many, this is redicu-list.
I agree that Starhawk shouldn't be above Warhawk, however I must say that Starhawk multiplayer was incredible for its time! Many people wrote it off bc the single player was quite terrible, bc it was basically 1 huge tutorial for the multiplayer. But I can tell you never spent any significant amount of time in MP. It was doing incredibly tense base building w air, foot and land vehicle (and mech!) combat long before Fortnite was ever a thing.
I bet it would have been much better received if it had just ditched the story mode all together. So many people like yourself completely wrote it off based on reviews by reviewers that let the criticism of single player weigh heavily on their scores. I bet you didn't even play it.
There's also the less acclaimed 'assault on dark Athena'

With every big game now belonging to a big intellectual property, there are those that have become redundant. Here are the series' we miss.
I miss Dark Cloud I mean damn, Dark Cloud 2 is one of the best Action RPG game ever made. The game have: Rich Worlds, different setting, tons of contents, vareity in gameplay like never before (and even after), best buliding mechanics, crafting system like no one did and finally impressive graphics.
Most underrated game ever. It deserved the popularity and sales of Zelda and Final Fantasy. ut unfortunately, Level-5 and Sony didn't advertise it at all.
My franchises I wish would make a come back, are Battlefront by pandemic studios - galactic conquest was the best, mercenaries 1 and 2, and prototype 1 and 2...great games!

Another developer looking to go down the drain, more important, not just any developer, one of the best console multiplayer game developers around, & responsible for the unrivalled Starhawk, that gamers are failing to buy in droves.

Blame the american media they trash this game. Because it is a PS3 exclusive. Sad really it is a awesome game. That fan wars stuff makes me sick.
This was one of the VERY few games I pre-ordered in the past year (maybe the only one, now that I think of it), where I wait for most games to get a little cheap. Aside from excitement, a good deal of the reason had to do with wanting to show support, so something like this wouldn't happen. I guess the community doesn't feel the same way.
Enjoy Black Ops 7 everyone. Or is it Modern Warfare 9? Whatever the hell it is, I hope you all really love it.
Unfortunate news. I personally didn't like these games but that's just me. But they had some good ideas. Hopefully these guys can find another place and get a bigger budget.
