Social network dismisses the idea that one publisher dominates the market
More than 230 million Facebook users played a game in the last 30 days - around 25 per cent of the social network's entire user-base.
The information was released by Doug Purdy, Facebook's director of developer products, who also addressed the widely held belief that the platform is entirely dominated by "one publisher", presumably Zynga.

It's unlikely a large percentage of that huge audience will remain interested in these types of play forever but a worry if they ever did- an audience this size dwarfs those more traditional of gamers and devs may decide it's an easier time targeting this. Passionate devs will obviously always exist though so surely not a worry then

The reality is that loads of people pass off games going with what they think is right concerning liking something or not, but games like other forms of entertainment can be enjoyed by anyone- as folk are now finding out via things like FB or even DS
I imagine it's a annoying though some of the conversations people have, in the same way it was also fairly annoying when the Playstation showed up with an avalanche of people thinking it was the start of gaming- most of these people all declared experts on the subject as well. Yet most of us had of course been enjoying games for at least a good ten or more years
A certain type of person doesn't game in the bigger sense which is fine and as you would expect, but FB cleverly exploits an aspect that a lot of us find hard to resist. I doubt this can be sustained though
