well that actually looks useful for a change. For the most part the game runs awesome and is well done though.

KillerPwned4344d ago

I only ever had one problem where it froze one time but that is all. Other than that I am running it maxed out and it works fantastic.

ThatEnglishDude4344d ago (Edited 4344d ago )

I purchased this today (already own a 360 copy haha) and I gotta say, this is Rockstars finest hour for PC gaming. The game looks great, optimized well and best of all, controls like a DREAM. I completed the game on 360 and I knew the game would be more comfortable with a mouse - but not THIS much better.

Of course when the games aiming mechanics are very 'weighted' and require precision - you simply can't beat a mouse. Online gameplay seems much faster as a result. It would have been nice to resume my rank and gameplay stats from my 360 gameplay (considering it's all tied with Social Club) and it was kinda annoying starting back at Rank 1, but I personally play a LOT better with the mouse so it didn't take long to get up to speed. Speaking of which, the netcode seems pretty solid and have yet to encounter any lag or anything like that.

Great job Rockstar!

Running the game maxed out on:

Intel i5 750
GeForce GTX570
12GB Ram
Windows 7 x64

Amazing Game , needs some tweaks on the control side but using https://twitter.com/Rocksta...

... helps , assuming it ain't some sort of placebo.

Suggestion helps even though its in the wrong menu xD

I dont like the fact it can be maxed on your system, still a great system though.

My point is, back in the day some pc games could not be maxed, they got better with age because you could go back years later and the game would look even better.
That doesn't seem to happen anymore.

I read that the textures are 4 times the size of the console ones, I don't think that is true. I was expecting the game to look much better, and be much more demanding.

The gameplay has not changed much, except the cover system. That is not a bad thing, if anything it shows how great the originals were.

ThatEnglishDude4343d ago (Edited 4343d ago )

I DO see what you mean Bumnut, but I can see this game aging very gracefully. I think the game is very well optimized. I remember not having the most recent hardware when Half Life 2 came out and was able to max it out and that game has really aged well.

For the record, I realized I don't have MSAA enabled, just FXAA. Putting on 'true anti aliasing' up to 2x does bring it down to around 30-40FPS which is of course still very nice, but disabling it, using FXAA @ 1920x1080 you still get a good picture that is giving me 50-60FPS consistently.

The textures DO look a lot better. I had the 360 and PC versions running at the same time and yeah, it's definitely more clear. Things like being able to read signs, small printed text - that kind of thing. Overall, it's just a very clear, crisp and clean image throughout.

But the main reason I wanted to play it on PC is simply for mouse support, and boy what a difference. I understand there are people who can use analog sticks very precisely, and I play a LOT of console games, but I just can't get that level of precision I need for a game like this with the analog sticks.

I would say the gameplay has changed quite a bit. Don't get me wrong, I love it - and the originals. The Max Payne series is in my top 3 personal all time favorites. The gameplay of Max 3 is designed to be much slower. I found myself dying a lot to begin with because I was trying to play it how I would the first two, and it wasn't working. You NEED to use cover, you NEED to use the bullet time more sparingly, especially on harder difficulties. This game is a challenge and thank God for that! I'm glad it doesn't play exactly the same as the first two, because that would be quite a disappointment waiting this long only to find nothings changed.

I got 80% trophy completion on Ragnarok but left a few of the battles. Will come back to it one day.

Miraak82 297d ago

Dragon Quest 11 is my top pick

RpgSama297d ago

Dragon Quest XI was such an AMAZING game, I had a blast from the very beginning all the way to the very end, it actually got better the more you played, full of surprises as well.

Another game that I enjoyed from the very beginning all the way to the end of the 100% completion was Yakuza: Like a Dragon. Really, really, really fun game with a great heartfelt story.

badz149297d ago (Edited 297d ago )

Where is Horizon Zero Dawn?? where is Ghost of Tsushima?? I just got my Platinum on HZD and is now trying to finish the Frozen Wild expansion. so much care and love went into that game and it really shows. I especially adore the lore and have sunk many hours listening to the logs and reading journals. the back story is great and the gameplay is awesome. can't wait to replay on the hardest difficulty on NG+. next in my list would be to finish GoTsushima

Tacoboto297d ago

Ghost was fantastic especially after Iki Island and the PS5 upgrade. 100%'d that, Horizon Forbidden West (not ZD), GoW (not yet Ragnarok), Spider-Man, and R&C: Rift Apart.

Each one absolutely worth it.

Aloymetal297d ago (Edited 297d ago )

100% I would like to add to you list RDR2, amazing as well and the perks from getting the Legend Of The East outfit is awesome.
Sekiro as well, have to play twice to get it but it's worth it!

Demetrius297d ago

I agree I'm on my 2nd playthroughs of both horizon forbidden West(zero dawn I played also) ghost of Tsushima except I'm replaying it on PS5 this time, the iki island expansion is amazing

ClayRules2012297d ago

Yeah, GoT was already an AMAZING game on PS4, but playing it on PS5, along with that expansion, just even better.

Elda297d ago

I just started my copy of GOW:R, enjoying it so far.

DefenderOfDoom2297d ago (Edited 297d ago )
