The Most Promising Games of 2008

It's one guy's opinion, one guy's article. He failed to mention Fable 2, Lost Odyssey, Huxley, Splinter Cell Conviction, Halo Wars, Too Human and the rumored Gears of War 2 for 2008. I've seen several of these "most anticipated games of 2008" articles and not a single list has been the same =) Everyone's going to have a killer line-up for 2008 -- there will be something good for everyone. I think I'll even be able to get my mom into gaming this year...lol!

The PS3 line up is really good this year and to think that's not even all the exclusives coming out for the system, there's still a ton of games that are not on the list and game's that haven't be announced yet that are coming out this year for the PS3.

Anyways the lineups appear to be slightly opinionated (obviously, as we'd all form our own lists), but still interesting...

Here's my PS3 lineup just for the hell of it (in no particular order since I'm unable to arrange them so early and it's hard enough to limit it to 10) since I am leaning most towards a PS3:

-GT5
-Killzone 2
-Haze
-Mercenaries 2
-Resistance 2
-Brothers in Arms- Hells Highway
-InFamous
-Conflict: Denied Ops
-Star Wars: The Force Unleashed

yes I'm a huge shooter fan (but also like other genres, Borderlands, Tekken 6...)

If people think the 360 doesn't have anything worth mentioning for 08, just say that. Don't say multiplatform games and act as if it covers for it. Just name it's exclusives like you'd do the PS3 and the wii.

Guy must have forgotten about SC Conviction or something, cuz that game beats out Saint's Row in my book. He also forgot about White Knight Chronicle which beats out The Agency IMO.

Yeah, I thought he might be missing something for the PS3. And if he already had GTA4 on the list I don't see why he included Saints Row 2. Fable 2 (one of the highest selling games on the original Xbox, don't see how he missed it) or Conviction should have been on there instead.

2008 will be an even better year than 2007. 2008 will feature games such as GTAIV, MGS4, DMC4, NG2, Halo Wars, WKC, LBP, KZ2, FC2, Resistance 2, Crisis Core, FFIV DS, and even more unannounced titles. Can't wait.

Splinter Cell conviction was pushed back to 2009. I think LA noire was for the PS3 as well.

I believe Conviction was supposedly pushed back to mid 2008 to compete against MGS4, which would be suicidal IMO. Then again, Ubi is notorious for delaying games, Hell's Highway's lengthy delay coming to mind.

P.S. That list is incomplete. Where the hell is Resistance 2? That game alone would be enough for me this year. Also, this year its GT5 coming out, aswell as Prologue in the US and Europe ;)

Very incomplete list. Still, enough to show some of the stuff PS3 owners will be able to play this year :D
