Halo: Reach Review

STORY
Halo: Reach is a prequel to the original halo,
and puts you in Noble Team, A squad of noble Spartans, they will
experience the fall of reach as they battle the Evil Covenant.
The campaign had much better cinematics than previous games, additionally it had the same effect as Titanic where you know the end but the journey was nothin short of epicness.

GRAPHICS
Considering the scale of the game, bungie did a great job in the visual department, impressive artisitic designs and great environments in the open sandbox.

GAMEPLAY

Halo reach gameplay is untouchable on consoles, perfect blend of new features such as armour abilities , to the perfectly crafted vehicle controls. Forge world is a much better user freindly expereince.

Online/Features

This is where Halo reach shines, Campaign is played on heroic will take 9-12 hours to complete, but this campaign offers all sorts of replayability, with co op/ matchmaking and the data pads(skulls) to make it more interesting.

Firefight is much improved with its immense customisations, matchmaking and specificley made maps. Many will spend hours and hours here.

Multiplayer modes offer the traditional modes previous halo's were famous for. However now their is Invasion, versus firefight, stockpile, Arena and headhunter, all great addittion to possibly the best multiplayer game on consoles, also with theatre mode its always great to chek those highlights with your freinds especially with the rewind feature.

Forge world or little big halo in 3d. This feature is stagering, the amount of options offered here from making platforming, racing games to state of the art architecture maps. Who needs bungie the community will carry this game for another 5 years.

VERDICT
A great mature story, with solid gameplay and stagering amount of features.

I hope this just isn't some trivial retaliation for the 8.9 Halo: Reach review. This could really go for an edit with more information, bro.

MacGamer4833d ago

10.0.. wow what a massive score.

Never played the game myself, but if it really is "that good", then i'll give it a go.

How'd fallout not make the list. Atleast over cyberpunk, tales , and halo. Fallout been around since what 96 98 and has 5 6 games into it. It's full of lore when you play it. I'd even add star ocean to a point.

robtion337d ago

Agree Fallout should be on there.

MadLad337d ago

And somehow Planescape Torment doesn't even make the list.

Crows90337d ago

Hollow knight surpasses these.

shinoff2183337d ago

In lore? I must be missing something

Crows90337d ago (Edited 337d ago )

Yes in lore. Easily missed... absolutely. Never played a game that had me loving the world and lore behind it as much as that one. Most of course wouldn't be able to experience it since it is a more difficult game.

DarXyde337d ago

I can't speak for all titles on this list, but by the time you get to Dark Souls III, the lore is a bloody tapestry of intricacy

Crows90336d ago

Played them all. Im not saying the games on the list dont have good lore...I just think hollow knight had more lore that is hidden but present and more easily explored and accessed. The souls games have tremendous lore but theyre mostly hidden and stay that way unless you look for it and research it. The lore is not very accessible.

DarXyde336d ago

Crows90,

I think that's a somewhat fair assessment. For me, the Souls games are less upfront about the lore, but it does invite your fascination through NPCs, items, locations, bosses, etc. There's this kind of natural progression where the picture becomes just clear enough by doing the essential tasks, but it really makes you want to explore every inch of the world.

TheColbertinator337d ago

Suikoden and Legend of Heroes also have massive lore setups.

agent13337d ago

narration is more important than lore i'd rather watch the story and characters in a more cinematic way instead of searching for notes and stuff that's why i love sony exclusive games like uncharted and gow and hate from software games

shinoff2183336d ago

The article was top ten lore in video games. I think they did a bad job picking games out. I know what you mean though. I just like a variety of games and genres.
