The Conduit

Graphics:
The Conduit has the best graphics of anything we have seen so far on the Wii. The different textures are mapping is wonderful as well as the character designs and weapon designs. Each weapon and character has a distinctive look to them and are well polished almost to the extent of what one would expect on a High Definition console. The linear movement is nice to a certain extent to were you are not wandering around aimlessly trying to figure out were to go. The biggest problems with The Conduit in the presentation section is that certain pathways get repetitive and there is not much detail in the environments as well some questionable art style.
Sound:
While the music in The Conduit is nothing Platinum record worthy the intensity of the game is well brought out with the music. When missions or objectives are completed the music tones down from an up beat tempo down to a state of calming. The voice over in the game is very good with everything smoothly transitioning from sentence to sentence, as well as good acting of emotion. The voices of your human enemies are quite well as you hear the shouting of orders and conformation of locating the target, however there alien counterparts seem to lack any intellect. The only noises they make are the grunts and groans that you would expect an alien to sound like with the occasional mumble of some kind of alien language.
Gameplay:
This control is what The Conduit excels in. The default controls of The Conduit work well as the camera moves at a steady pace across screen and turning is a breeze, but if you dislike the defaults then there is plenty of tinkering to do in the options. It may take you awhile before you get the perfect controls down for your preferences but with the ability to change your sensitivity, dead zone, turn speed, and mapping on the fly helps greatly in trying to find your niche. The enemy AI is pretty good but certain moments you will have them run right into a grenade or just sit back in the open. This can be changed too. The Conduit offers the ability to change to difficulty setting on the fly just as the controls, feel like you are going through a level without a challenge? Just pause the game and adjust accordingly. The higher difficulty settings dramatically increase the AI as well as the damage you take from them. The AI will then make more moves with its allies as well as take opportune moments when you are reloading you weapon.
Story:
The story of The Conduit is actually deeper than most would expect in a first person shooter. It is by no means enough to win an Oscar though. There are plenty of twist and turns in the story as well as some conveniently located radio transmissions that make the story even better if you just spend the time sit around and listen, which you may feel like doing after an intense firefight. The story’s base however is quite simple, aliens are taking control of Washington D.C. and you have to stop them. It may seem generic but there is a lot more than what meets the eye . The only downside is that the story is a bit short only adding up about 8 hours of gameplay. While the story itself is short there are many different achievements and unlockables for those who enjoy them.
Lasting Appeal:
With The Conduit a lot of the appeal of the game does not come from the story, but from the fantastic online mode. Many different maps and game modes are sure to keep the avid online gamer at happy. Certain modes are unique to the online world such as the Bounty Hunter mode as each player is given a specific target to eliminate and points are awarded for successfully taking out the target and points are docked when you kill the wrong person. Another great mode is the ASE Football mode which is boils down to whomever holds the ASE the longest is the victor. The online runs smoothly however long waits for the server are a setback and the occasional loading into a game and not being able to move or see is quiet the annoyance.
Fun Factor
The game overall is a very fun experience and if you own a Wii this game is definitely worth picking up full time. This game delivers a feel that cannot be found on any First Person Shooter on the market, HD or Wii.

The Conduit developer High Voltage Software has teased a follow-up to its 2011 Wii shooter, hinting that something may be revealed before the year is out.
As much as I bought into the Conduit hype back in the day I really hope this game is not for a Nintendo platform-I was burned by promises of great graphics, controls and story-what I got was unfinished assets, disappearing floors and one of the stupidest stories of all time...
Conduit 2 is not the game that finally makes the first-person shooter feel at home on the Wii. Is this goal an impossible dream, or are developers just going about it incorrectly?
I remember how much initial excitement there was for shooters on the Wii. Never really panned out.
Play Killzone 3 using Move, although it has a very high learning curve, once learned you'll never want to play a FPS game on analogs again.
The accuracy, turn speed and movement are so much faster and better but it takes around 2 hours to master and tweak your settings.
Motion controlled shooters are the best way to play FPS games on consoles, at least as far as Move is concerned.
Prime 3, MOH:H2, Red Steel 2, Conduit 1, COD Reflex, and COD BO all control accurately on Wii.
Saying Move some how solves everything is naive, Move's supremacy over the Wiimote accuracy does not extend to the Wiimote's IR.
IR is 1:1, Good controls depend on the programming, the dead boxes, turning speeds, and how well it utilizes the pointer mechanic, hell including customizable controls fixes most problems.
I don't get it. How can you complain about controls in a game where the controls are fully customizable? Like tunaks1 said above, you can adjust the deadzone, turning speed, cursor sensitivity, x-axis, y-axis, everything.
You can even map whatever action to whatever button.
Wii Motion Plus just makes it all better.
AND you can use the Classic Controller if you want to. This goes for Goldeneye 007 too.
i think that killzone 3 has done motion controlled shooting better than most, if not the best.
Here we get a quick preview of Conduit 2 as Josh Olson tells us a little bit about the new sequel to one of the Wii’s greatest games.
yeah, just that the engine was already made from the first game and they are filling it with new content.
