On July 2, Season 1 of XDefiant dropped and made waves in the community. As with any other big update, this drop caused quite a commotion among players. The first reviews are in, and they are quite mixed, to say the least. Unfortunately, most of the reviews contain some serious concerns about the entire Season 1 of XDefiant.

Some Concerns From Preseason Made a Comeback in Season 1

Several players testified to quitting XDefiant after trying out Season 1, at least for now. One of them, ScraPezZz, said: “This may be the worst Season 1 of any game that I’ve ever played. Content is okay at best but wtf is wrong with everything else? I’m dropping XDefiant for a while. Two betas and a Preseason and they can’t get it right. Too many good games right now to invest time in this unplayable mess. Completely embarrassing and unacceptable for Ubisoft”.

The list of issues according to this player is very long. They explained: “FPS are terrible on PS5. Spider Bot was buffed. Battle Pass is mediocre at best. Crashes every few games. Jump spam is still a big issue. And the worst part of all, the hit reg is worse than ever, it feels terrible every single game “.

Hit reg has been a huge problem for many players ever since the XDefiant Preseason launched. Over time, several patches improved it a bit, but, it seems that hit reg is now at its lowest. Another player, jnbye7, confirmed: “I had to take multiple breaks since the game came out because it only takes a few games to realize it’s not my issue but the game. I’m emptying AK47 clips into people and being deleted by them”.

According to Ok_Bid_4441, the net code also suffered. They shared: “The net code is 1000% worse after the update. It’s impressive that they can try to fix something and end up making it that much worse. And whose idea was it to buff the Spider Bot?”.

One XDefiant Feature Received Hundreds of Bad Reviews

Another sore spot for the players is the infamous Spider Bot. WeBoolinBoi noted: “Spider Bot is worse now. While they increased the cooldown time, there is now no counter to getting face-hugged. Looking down and shooting doesn’t work anymore”. AnotherScoutTrooper added: “It feels like the only way for it to die now is for a teammate to shoot it off once it’s latched”.

We know that XDefiant players had a lot of concerns for Season 1 but according to all the reviews they were justified. The developers have been transparent about working on all the issues and their track record is great so far, so we can only hope that this mess is just temporary. Hopefully, they are already working on a patch. Until then, see you in the game, we’ll be the ones with Spider Bots stuck on our faces.
