XDefiant Executive Producer Surprised Fans With a Patch Update
If you’ve followed the journey of XDefiant, you are probably aware of all the reported issues. Players have had trouble with everything from hit reg, the insistent bunny-hopping, an overpowered weapon, and more. Mark Rubin, the Executive Producer of XDefiant gave an update on the next patch that would resolve some of the fans’ issues.
Fans Have Been Patiently Waiting for This Update
The EP shared the news on X. He stated: “Also, next week’s patch will be the one to look out for with a lot of gameplay changes (Sniper flinch, BH [bunny-hopping], screen shake, etc) and some hit reg/net code changes. And remember with hit reg and net code no “one” change will fix everything but we will keep making improvements”.

This update came hours after a small patch, so fans were naturally relieved to learn that a bigger patch was coming. Buckeye said: “Appreciate this clarification, Mark! Was definitely a little confused with the small Patch this morning”. Justin Lindsey added: “Thank you for being so transparent. Y’all are doing a great job, don’t listen to the naysayers”.
People were pleased with the announced fixes, but even more so with Mark Rubin. Lynxthewriter said: “Oof this gives me some relief, but I hope it happens. With Mark Rubin in the team, gives me some hope”. PrinceShoutoku noted: “A tiny bit disappointed we didn’t get that this week, but bah, I still highly appreciate Mark’s constant updating and dev chatter. I know exactly what to look forward to”.
Players Have Big Dreams For a Future Patch
As expected, some players were worried about the unannounced changes that might surprise us. A player, isthil89, said: “I hope they don’t start nerfing weapons that don’t need it cuz weapon balancing is pretty good in this game”. On the other hand, some fans would love to have a bigger challenge, so they actually hope for the nerfs.
Another fan, genorok, shared changes they’d “love to see to factions for a bit better balance”. These changes include a nerf to Eschelon, a nerf to Phantom HP, and a nerf to Spider Bot. DarkIcedWolf contributed: “Honestly I want more ways to counter each faction. Seeing how each one has only pros with only Dedsec actually being a counter is insane to me”.
Of course, the general sentiment was very positive. Hot_Riddler reminded everyone: “One must take the good, WITH the bad, and that’s life, one can’t expect to have a game tailored perfectly to their own personal tastes”. We agree with this approach. You can take your favorite game and still find a detail that you’d like to be different.
The XDefiant developers, led by their Executive Producer, are trying to patch things up and give the fans an update that they have asked for, and that should be a huge plus in anyone’s book. Hopefully, the new patch will satisfy the players, now we just have to wait for the next week.
