But why is Sons of the Forest in early access? And how long will it be on there for? We have all the answers for you below, courtesy of developer Endnight Games’ recent statement. Let’s take a look at what they said.
How long is Sons of the Forest in early access?
According to the devs, the Early Access period will last for around 6-8 months, so around August or October. This could be subject to change as they want to create the “best version of the game possible”.
In statement on Steam, the devs said: “We set out to make the ultimate survival horror simulator, and feel it is now at a stage where it needs player feedback and involvement to help push this even further.
“Our experience with releasing our first game ‘The Forest’ in Early Access was extremely positive.
“We got a lot of really good feedback and suggestions and were able to shape and improve the game drastically, rather than if we kept development internal. Having players involved at this stage will make this game even better.”

The good news is that Endnight plans to gather community feedback to shape how Sons of the Forest evolves over the early access period.
“Similar to our Early Access release of ‘The Forest’, we will be taking feedback and suggestions from both the community here on Steam and across social media,” the team said on Steam.
