Players Welcome the Changes Made in Valorant Patch 9.06

Valorant Agent Skye

Sometimes, a good patch doesn’t have to change the whole game or add a bunch of new stuff. Sometimes, it’s more than enough for the patch just to tweak some common issues. That was exactly the purpose of patch 9.06, and the Valorant community is quite satisfied with the devs’ decisions.

Highlights of the Patch 9.06

In a lengthy post on the official Valorant account on X, the developers listed and explained all the changes they made in patch 9.06. They also shared what they considered to be the most important changes.

They noted: “In particular, you’ll now be able to see if you’re picking up a Reaver vandal or Forsaken vandal. New VALORANT PC players will now get tips on how to play, and the voting system will now no longer count AFK players in the draw vote”.

Another note-worthy change is the addition of a long-expected block feature. You can now block other players from messaging you in text chat, over voice comms, their party invites and requests, as well as friend requests.

Aside from the ones listed, this patch featured some Agent updates, Gameplay System updates, map updates, player behavior updates, weapons updates, and many, many bug fixes. Even though there weren’t any huge life-changing changes, this patch could be considered solid.

Valorant Players Share Their Honest Opinions

The Valorant community showed some appreciation for patch 9.06. Most of the community members were delighted by some of these changes. SinonAsada noted: “Updated voting systems so that draw votes no longer take into account AFK players. Huge”. This post gathered almost 1000 upvotes, so it’s safe to say that the players liked this change the most.

One veteran player noted: “The new player tips are great. While I am not very experienced myself, I see so many new players just completely clueless about what’s going on and just ignoring tips from teammates”.

However, some players weren’t all that happy that the patch featured only relatively small changes. Now, we get that a huge flashy patch would be great. But, in our opinion, these patches that address smaller issues are crucial.

We are looking forward to seeing how the new block feature works, as, unfortunately, we’ve crossed paths with an alarming number of toxic players recently. Of course, the devs deserve all the praise for approaching this issue seriously. Hopefully, their actions will put a stop to this kind of behavior. So, see you out there and enjoy the game.
