New Leaks Claim a Block Feature Will Finally Be Added to Valorant

There has been a lot of discussion about sportsmanship in the Valorant community. As you know, it’s not uncommon for players to be harassed or bullied by their teammates. Unfortunately, as of now, the only effective thing the victim can do is to mute and report the bully. Even though there are way more kind players eager to help, bullying is still a huge problem. Well, that might change soon, as a block feature might be coming to Valorant, according to some leaks.

Some Leaks Suggest a Block Feature Is on Its Way

An account specializing in the Valorant leaks on the social network X shared an announcement with the player base. This announcement stated: “Players who are blocked cannot send you friend requests or party invites. You will also not be able to hear them in voice channels”. Also, the leakers added a photo of what this feature could look like in-game.

As you may have expected, Valorant players worldwide were thrilled by this possible addition. It’s quite unfortunate that so many people had negative encounters while playing Valorant, but this feature might provide them with a safe place.

One player, IrishDovah noted: “It’s about time. I have come across a group of toxic people in Valorant after a match and dodging the following one because they would be in the next one. Then the following queue they are in it again, so I have to just mute them. Very annoying but now I can block”.

The Community Would Like This Feature to Be More Strict

Some Valorant players weren’t too excited by these leaks and the possible addition of a block feature. The main problem was that according to these leaks, the feature wouldn’t do much, or better said, it wouldn’t do enough. Some players were hoping for a complete block. Of course, keep in mind, that these leaks aren’t official, so we don’t know for sure if this feature would do what they suggested.

Guro Daljord Bø stated: “I was hoping it’d actually make a difference: make it impossible to get on the same team as the player you’ve blocked. All those three things are fixable right now. Invites, just ignore the first one, they can’t send multiple. Vc? Mute. Blocking won’t make a difference”.

This player added: “AT LEAST could they make it so that blocking a player would also make you not hear the voice lines/voice comms from the agent they’re playing? It seems this blocking feature will just be completely useless, at least make it solve one of the actual problems”.

We suppose the devs will probably do some fine-tuning before releasing this feature, but it’s good to know that they are actively listening to the player base. This feature could potentially increase the happiness of the players, and that’s always a good thing. Giving toxic players less space to bully others is just an added bonus.
