If Valorant isn’t the only FPS game you’ve played, then you are probably aware that, depending on the game, cheating might actually be quite a common occurrence. Now, try to remember the last time you’ve seen someone cheating in Valorant. We honestly can’t remember, how about you?
How Common of a Problem is Cheating?
As we’ve already mentioned, it’s been a while since we encountered a cheater in Valorant. Many community members reported they had the same experience, maybe encountering a cheater or two since they had started playing the game.
One player, cryo_nap, noted: “I’ve been suspicious of people before but I’ve only gotten the “cheater detected” screen twice. I’ve had a couple more notifications from Riot saying the action was taken on reported accounts but it’s quite rare because I think it’s actually handled rather well by Riot”.
Most players joked that they had never personally seen a cheater, but a friend who was having a bad match swore someone on the opposing team was cheating. Honestly, who hasn’t accused the opposing team of cheating while losing to them?
A devoted Redditor, iUsedToBeAwesome, shared their experience. This player stated: “I hear this every game from my friends. I’m like, sure buddy, we’re catching a cheater every single game. It’s definitely not you being a**”.
Valorant Players Share Their Experiences With Cheaters
As you may have expected, some Valorant players claimed that cheating was way more common, but it was unnoticeable. Of course, that is completely possible, as most of us notice cheating only if it’s extremely obvious, like if someone walks through walls.
EXILLIAN_TM said: “Most of them are undetectable, you really notice when someone has triggerbot. Was mostly only this. But I have encountered only once the raw one who was using it without shame. I had 2 times the “cheater detected” screen, once in comp and once in unrated back in the day”.
Also, it’s worth noting that cheating might be more common in some regions. One player who plays on Texas and California servers has encountered cheaters more than 15 times. Loose-Chemical-4982 said: “I have had the CHEATER DETECTED screen come up in my comp games about 15-17 times at this point. A few times it hasn’t happened until the half which is super annoying, but it usually happens between rounds 3-5”.
One thing is for sure, with the “red screen” and efficient responses to reports, Riot isn’t joking around when it comes to cheaters. That’s quite reassuring for all avid players. The thing we love the most about the Valorant community is the fact that the players have a strong moral code. They’ll take every opportunity to support fellow players and confront the bullies. So, whatever problems you face, know that they’ll gladly support you.
