Valorant Agent Deemed as Overpowered Faces a Nerf

Valorant Agents Neon, Sage and Jett

The latest patch brought many changes to all the Agents. By the specifications alone, players presumed Neon would be the new meta. As many buffs as Neon received, one character still stands out more. The Valorant agent that will receive a nerf after being called overpowered is none other than Iso.

Valorant Players Debate If Iso is Really Overpowered or Just Misunderstood

Ever since Iso appeared, people have been saying he was too strong. Th0wl explained: “Iso is a poorly designed character. And I’ve been saying this, not just recently after the buff, but ever since he was released. A character who can block a headshot in a game with one-shot headshots is just terrible design because it’s not fun to play against”.

Manafaj said: “He seems completely overpowered as it is now. The shield is almost an instant win if you’re not significantly worse than your opponent aim-wise. His ult also seems very broken. Not only do you get a 1v1 with a shield on you but also it takes away one player from the map for several seconds”.

Sanguis_Plaga shared their frustrations. They said: “This is the most frustrating thing in the game. If he peeks you or swings you because of Peeker’s advantage he is kind of guaranteed to get the first hit. And after that, you have to break his always active annoying shield. So now you can finally shoot him except you can’t because literally almost anyone who plays him is a goddamn aimbot. This guy genuinely gives me nightmares”.

Of course, many players liked Iso just the way he was. Zennieo explained: “Y’all can whine broken & op but it’s clear to anyone that played any significant amount of time on iso before the buff vs now, he carves out an actual space on his team now whereas beforehand he couldn’t execute the basic function of the duelist role with any amount of consistency. Now he fulfills his own niche, without stepping on the toes of other duelists, and still maintaining clear weaknesses”.

A Nerf for This Valorant Agent is on Its Way

Well, whether you think this Valorant agent is overpowered, or not, he is apparently getting a nerf. One of the Valorant game designers, penguin, shared some news on X. They said: “We have an upcoming Iso change planned for 9.00. Removing the two-kill reset on his E. Reducing the duration of his E from 20s > 12s. Removing the reset gives Iso just one activation, and reducing the duration should create a clearer window for opponents to deny him fights”.

As you might expect, opinions were divided on this topic. Some people were overjoyed, others were mourning their favorite agent. Many pointed out that the announced nerf wouldn’t fix the problem that bothered the players the most. Of course, fans of this agent also pointed out that 12 seconds weren’t enough to accomplish anything.

The next patch (9.00) is scheduled for June 25, with new content being available in-game on June 26. Aside from Iso being nerfed, the players haven’t received any other details. We are all impatiently waiting for patch notes so we’ll know what to expect from Episode 9. Like many others, we are hoping for a new agent. The new Episode can’t arrive soon enough. To make the time pass by faster, we suggest you study Abyss.
