Sleek, Stylish, and Gone Too Soon? The First Descendant Players Rally for the Return of Spotify Black

Nexon added a new limited-edition paint, and it was super effective! Spotify Black came and went, but it turned out to be so popular that The First Descendant players advocate for its return.

The first TFD anniversary was, among other things, full of various events. Even though the players have issues with one of them, Nexon also celebrated the fact that they have released their first soundtrack on Spotify, and had a mini-event in the game, offering free green and black paints (the colors of Spotify’s logo) to all players who simply log into the game. As it turns out, the Spotify Black is so liked by The First Descendant players that the fact that the Paint is limited does not sit well with most of them, and they would love to see it become readily available.

It’s sleek. It’s stealthy. And it’s suddenly become one of the most talked-about cosmetics in the TFD community. The Spotify Black paint, introduced as part of a recent event with Spotify, was generally liked by the players, many of whom are now asking for it to become a permanent Paint in the game.

Social media, most notably Reddit and Discord, are both full of fans praising the new cosmetic option, with some saying it’s one of the best Paints in the game to date. It manages to hit that perfect spot when it comes to black paints: not too glossy, not too matte, not way too dark, and not too light. Just a perfect color for every combination. Players are already requesting that Nexon bring the paint back, either under the same name (not likely, due to legal reasons) or under a different one, in the future. “Enamel black is too shiny in my opinion, and matte black is completely devoid of any highlights. Would be great to see it be added into the game as a permanent paint, even if by another name,” said one user on Discord.

Some users offer sensible solutions to this, saying that it may be just like the Twitch colors, getting rewarded to the players from time to time. Others are a bit more irritated by the fact that such a good type of black is tied to a collaboration with a brand, making it hard to come by.

There is no official word yet from the devs, but it is safe to say that the players’ thoughts on the new paint are clear, and many are even willing to pay money for it. Whether it returns as “Spotify Black” or under a new name, don’t be surprised if we see it again. This time to stay, hopefully.
