Nexon is really going above and beyond when it comes to the character design and the available skins. The original design of Descendants is pretty good, but it’s the skins that make the characters shine. In TFD you can combine different body and head Skins (and some accessories) and repaint them. Moreover, Nexon is finally adding the option to repaint the base skins as well. With more awesome skins coming our way, the fans started having their own ideas for new cosmetics. Surprisingly enough, the devs are thinking along similar lines and have confessed that they plan to add a user-created skin contest to The First Descendant, sometime in the future.

User-Created Skin Contest Is Planned for The First Descendant

Every game worth its salt has a lot of fan art and fan-made projects. Just look at Baldur’s Gate 3 for example, the game is teeming with player-made mods and fan art and everything. But, for a live service game like TFD, the mods are not an option. So the fans resort to designing skins and posting them online, in hopes the development team will take notice. In a surprising turn of events, while answering fan questions, Nexon said:

“A user-created skin contest is an excellent idea. We are already planning something along these lines, so please stay tuned. We hope user-created skins can become a joyful celebration for the TFD community.”

A lot of games (like Dead By Daylight or Fortnite, for example) offer their fans a chance to design their own skins and submit them for consideration. Since Nexon has a very open communication with their The First Descendant fanbase, it was only a matter of time before an idea like this one was mentioned and the prospect of a contest where the fans can submit their own, user-made Skin designs sounds pretty cool. Of course, we can ignore the fact that a lot of them will be of, well, questionable quality and only “suitable” for mature audiences. However, some gems are bound to appear. So stretch your designing muscles and get ready.
