We all saw the trailer for Season 3, and besides all the obvious highlights, the players also noticed a change in the overall feel. The fans speculate that The First Descendant Season 3 will be a bit darker in tone.
Just a couple of days ago, during the Summer Game Fest, Nexon released a trailer for the next season. While the fans were pretty disappointed with the release date getting postponed, they loved the trailer itself. We had glimpses of the Wall breaker Colossus, the Hover Bikes, and some cool action shots. However, the trailer lacked the uplifting and cool tone that TFD usually has. Rather, a huge part of the trailer was a bit dark, with characters crying, looking traumatized, or in some disturbing scenes, prompting the fans to think that the game will shift towards a darker tone.
Players Sense a Shift Towards a Darker Story in the Upcoming The First Descendant Season 3
The trailer showed a couple of pretty gloomy scenes: Nell watching in horror as a Colossus is wrecking everything around her, a girl (who the majority thinks is Ines, but with different hair) sitting in her room with cuts and wounds all over her body, Bunny, who looks like she’s crying, and Nell in a scene like from a horror movie. Add a pretty sombre music track to the whole mix, and you can tell why the fans think things are about to get darker.
Players theorize that a Colossus will attack Albion, which would explain the initial scenes and the awakening of Nell’s Arche. “Perhaps that is what title Breakthrough refers to, the Colossus start coming through the void. Albion is directly attacked, takes a lot of damage. The Descendants forced to flee and counter attack, temporarily set up mobile commands, and scramble with strike teams on their hover bikes.“ thinks Initial-Ice-7691. Another theory is that Alpha will get killed during the fighting, which will leave the Descendants disorganized.
All in all, it looks like the fans are pretty excited for a more darker turn. “I initially expected the Breakthrough season to be cheery, but I am definitely convinced the devs are going with the dark interpretation for season 3 now. “ said Economy_Ad_9021, and “I absolutely love the bleak tone of the trailer. Can’t keep having humanity win at every turn if they want to make the story interesting :),” added Rautasusi.
Both Sharen and Freyna had some pretty dark storylines, and the fans loved them. Knowing that, giving Season 3 a darker tone will surely resonate well with the players. Now, we just have to wait until August…
