The latest patch for Season 3 of the Finals dropped on July 3. This patch provided the players with several smaller fixes and additions. The main attraction of update 3.3 must be the addition of a new Rank in the Terminal Attack mode of the Finals. That’s right, the long-expected Ruby Rank has arrived.
Patch 3.3 Delivered Ruby Rank to Terminal Attack Mode
The developers of The Finals took to Discord to announce the latest update. They stated: “Update 3.3 is now live and it’s introducing Ruby Rank! Ruby is an exclusive Rank for the very best of the best, as it’s only available for the top 500 players in the world! Unlike our other Ranks, the Ruby rewards will only be fully rewarded at the end of the Season, so you have to make sure you’re within those top 500 positions when the Season ends”.
It comes as no surprise that even though the addition of the Ruby Rank was a good thing, the players were still disappointed. A lot of players understood that this Rank was added alongside the Terminal Attack mode. One player, shaskalulelo, complained: “They probably kept Ruby until now to act like we are getting proper updates, no reason it shouldn’t have been there from the start”.
Dailivel explained: “The players grinded to see their Rank change to Ruby at the Top500 mark. It didn’t happen, so they grinded for D1 Top500. Nothing happened either. In most other games you just need to either reach Top500 or highest rank + Top500. Or a certain rank + Top500 = your Rank appears as the highest. For Embark to take so long to enable Ruby, even for people that are D1 is so lame”.
Raydonman pointed out another detail from the announcement. They noted: “Requiring Ruby to be held when the Season ends to get the reward is absolute bulls**t. Ruby is less about skill and more about time played. Yeah if you suck you won’t get it. There will always be 500 other people able to play the game more than you”.
The New Update of The Finals Left Some Players Wanting More
Unfortunately, The Finals players weren’t disappointed only by the addition of the new Terminal Attack Rank in the 3.3 update. Many mentioned the problems with the World Tour. One player, otclogic, said: “No indication as to what they’re doing with World Tour. Disappointing. They’ve relegated their main mode to a sideshow with the allusion of it being a whole new thing and then left us hanging”.
Another Redditor, octapenya, declared: “Just add ranked World Tour and the game is saved, so idiotic what the devs have decided to do”. RigbySlinter added: “Welp, as much as I love The Finals, I can’t help but feel like this game is going to die pretty fast if we keep getting updates like this”.
We’d like to point out that Season 3 is still at its start. The developers are going to keep on working on it. Also, it’s the season of summer vacations, so that might be another reason behind this disappointing update. Of course, we wouldn’t suggest giving up on this game just yet, a better update is probably on its way.
