Shift Up once again proves that they appreciate their team, as they have just rewarded their developers with new Nintendo Switch 2s to celebrate the Stellar Blade sales reaching 3 million.
Stellar Blade was released in April 2024 and has made some waves in the gaming community. Some critics had issues with the game leaning heavily on the appearance of its main character, Eve, saying that the game is nothing more than eye candy. Either way, the game proved to be pretty popular, but was only playable on PlayStation. The PC port was announced, but it would take quite a while for it to be released. But when it was officially released on PC, the sales were through the roof. And for that, Shift Up decided to reward their employees with the recently released Nintendo Switch 2 handheld consoles.
Shift Up Rewarded the Dev Team With a Switch 2 Each After Stellar Blade Reaches the 3 Million Sales Milestone
On Wednesday, June 11, 2025, Stellar Blade became playable on PC, and it took them only three days to sell one million copies. The game is already pretty popular in the gaming world, and PC players were counting the days until it received a PC port. The port went smoothly, and fans even say that it runs better on PC than on its original console. And let’s not forget that the PC version is easily moddable, further explaining the stellar sales.
In any case, the developers, Shift Up, were amazed by the sales, and when they reached three million just after a week, they decided to celebrate this milestone and provide their whole team with Nintendo Switch 2s. For the record, Switch 2 is a new handheld console from Nintendo that was recently released, on June 5. This is not the first time Shift Up is giving out consoles to their employees, as they gave out PS5s in 2021 and PS5 Pros in 2025.
