The Game Awards (or TGA) is a famous annual awards ceremony, dedicated to achievements in the gaming industry. The first iteration was back in 2014, nine years ago. It is always held at the beginning of December, with last year’s event on December 7, when Baldur’s Gate 3 took the coveted Game of the Year award. The event is scheduled for December 12 this time, and we’ve had some pretty good titles this year. It is still unknown which games will be “competing” for the best, however, the official announcement from The Game Awards said that on Monday, November 18, they will reveal this year’s nominees.
The Game Awards Nominees To Be Revealed on Monday, November 18
On November 14, The Game Awards released an announcement video stating that the nominees for TGA 2024 will be revealed in a live stream on Monday, November 18, at 9 am PT / 5 pm GMT.
Additionally, The Game Awards is the event where the news about upcoming games and updates are announced. This may be the perfect opportunity to get some news about Silksong, to find out what the next God of War game will be, or to get some news about GTA 6.
As mentioned previously, the nominees are still unknown but the fans have their own speculations. The majority thinks these games will be nominated and one of them will take the GOTY award:
- Helldivers 2
- Astro Bot
- Balatro
- Final Fantasy VII Rebirth
- Metaphor: ReFantaizo
- Black Myth: Wukong
- Silent Hill 2 Remake
- Space Marine 2
- Stellar Blade
- Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth
Of course, these are only speculations but each one of those games has performed well and is well received by both critics and players alike (even though some had a bit of controversy along the way).
