It’s a great day to be working for Shift Up. The studio behind the hit game Stellar Blade celebrated the holidays and the employees went home with a hefty and well-deserved bonus. Reportedly, the Shift Up executives decided to treat all their employees with a brand new PS5 and a monetary reward. It’s always wonderful to see that some companies recognize and award the hard work their employees put in.
Shift Up Employees Received a PS5 and Monetary Rewards
On January 6, the official page of Stellar Blade on X shared a glimpse at how the Shift Up employees celebrated the holidays. The announcement read: “We had our SHIFTUP New Year’s event today. Everyone got a PS5Pro so you can enjoy Stellar Blade in 4K, right? Oh, and there’s a glimpse of Lily and Eve”.
Alongside, the devs posted a picture of a huge stack of boxes and a short video. In the video, you can see a great atmosphere, happy employees, and even Lily and Eve from Stellar Blade.
A news agency, naver.com, shared more details about the event. They disclosed that, aside from the PS5, each Shift Up employee received a bonus of 5 million won (South Korean currency), which is around $3420.
According to this article, Shift Up had 311 employees as of the third quarter of 2024. It’s been reported that one of the officials said: “The plus and bonus payments are for the purpose of encouraging talent”. What a lovely sentiment! And, what a wonderful way to start off the new year.
This is definitely something we’d like to see more of in the future. Various studies have shown that being treated well gives employees some extra motivation to perform even better. So, we hope other companies will adopt this wonderful approach in the future. As for the Shift Up employees, congrats on a job well done, and enjoy your well-earned bonuses.
