Silent Hill 2 Remake is one of the most-anticipated games of late 2024, and rightfully so. The devs, Bloober Team, did their best to stay true to the original while updating it with current technology. The results speak for themselves. Silent Hill 2 Remake was released on October 8, and it scored higher than anyone expected, getting a score of 87 out of 100 on Metacritic. The game proceeded to smash every review, getting an even better score than the original game which is considered to be one of the best horror games out there.
Speaking of current technology, Sony announced in early September that the new console, PlayStation 5 Pro is on the way. It will be the most technologically advanced console, enabling PS fans to play their favorite games on up to 60FPS while providing amazing visuals. Unfortunately, even though you can play PS5 games on PS5 Pro without a hitch, not every PS5 game will have the coveted “PS5 Pro Enhanced” tag. That tag means that the devs did some extra work on the game and that it can fully support the new PS5 Pro technology. We expect that only the most popular ones from large studios will have it.
Discovered Files Point Towards Silent Hill 2 Remake Getting the PS5 Pro Enhancement
According to rumors on X, there are PSSR (PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution, an AI-powered upscaling feature found in PS5 Pro) files in the Silent Hill 2 Remake. That suggests that Silent Hill 2 Remake is made with PS5 Pro in mind and will have the coveted “PS5 Pro Enhanced” tag.
The visuals are already great, so we can only imagine what the game will look like on PS5 Pro. The pre-orders for the console have already begun, and it will officially launch on November 7, 2024. We expect that we’ll see some confirmation about Silent Hill 2 Remake and the PS5 Pro Enhancement in the next couple of days.
