MGS3: Snake Eater is one of the best Metal Gear Solid games out there. Published in 2004 for PlayStation 2, it is sort of a prequel to the original Metal Gear storyline, where you play as operative Naked Snake, tasked with rescuing Russian rocket scientist Nikolai Stepanovich Sokolov and sabotaging a superweapon. It was so successful that it sold millions of copies and was considered one of the best games of all time. On that note, Konami decided to do a remake of this incredibly popular game, for modern platforms. Titled Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, it will be playable on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and S, and on PC.
MGS Delta: Snake Eater Previewed on TGS 2024
At the Tokyo Game Show 2024, Konami showed an 11-minute video of MGS Delta: Snake Eater’s gameplay. Fans could very well see that the graphics and the mechanics have been improved. But, one of the most requested features is Photo Mode, and, based on the footage provided by Konami, it looks like this feature has been added to the remake.
Apart from that, we can see that some short cutscenes have been added, to enhance the experience. As for the release date, Konami offered no information. Since we’re basically in the last quarter of 2024, it is safe to assume that the remake of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater will be released somewhere in 2025. PlayStation and Xbox fans will also have the option to get Deluxe and Collector’s editions, featuring some extra goodies. PC users predominantly get their games via digital stores, so it is highly unlikely that any physical copy of MGS Delta: Snake Eater for PC will be released.
This was one of the best games ever made, so chances are that this remake will also turn out great. Especially if they make it with PlayStation 5 Pro in mind, to fully utilize the platform’s capabilities.
