One of the greatest mysteries of the PS5 Pro release and the games enhanced for it is the fact that Cyberpunk 2077 is left out. Right before the official release on PS5 Pro Sony revealed a list of more than 50 games that will have the PS5 Pro Enhanced tag, meaning they have been specifically updated to make use of all the new tech PS5 Pro brings to the table. And players noticed that Cyberpunk 2077, one of the more popular games of today with awesome visuals, is not on the list. But the list is only for games supporting PS5 Pro from day one, meaning that there is still hope for Cyberpunk 2077 to get updated soon, right? Well, Projekt RED is there to crush our dreams, saying that there are no plans for a PS5 Pro patch for Cyberpunk 2077.

Cyberpunk 2077 With No Plans for PS5 Pro Patch in The Foreseeable Future

Well, get ready for some bad news. On November 19, NextGenNero asked the official Cyberpunk 2077 profile on X whether a PS5 Pro update and/or Black Friday sale is planned. And, on November 20, the devs (or whoever is running the page) gave a simple answer: “We currently have no plans for PS5 Pro patch”.

As expected, the fans are devastated by this, going through all seven stages of grief in a matter of hours.

  • Shock – “This is a L !!!!!” by Gametight1194.
  • Denial – “NOOOOOOOOO. Game of the generation has no PS5 Pro patch????” by RinoTheBouncer.
  • Anger –  “Then make plans.” by DoubleDPads.
  • Bargaining – ”I’ll pick up a copy when there’s a PS5 Pro patch. And if there isn’t, I won’t be playing 2077.” by Jonat2Go.
  • Depression – “You’ve ruined my life.” by BlairWitchHunt3.
  • Acceptance and hope – “Well this is disappointing smh I guess all efforts are on GTA6 which makes sense I guess” by Nomad9223.
  • Processing Grief – “Lol at least they are being transparent about it. They already have a lot on their plate right now.” by D4DGaming.

Jokes aside, some players think this decision was made because Sony removed Cyberpunk 2077 from their PS Store. The game was so buggy upon release that Sony removed it, and it looks like CD Projekt Red never forgave them, even though the game is back in the Store now. Of course, this is only speculation. Whatever the case, PS5 Pro users will have to go without Cyberpunk 2077.
