One of the most anticipated games of 2025 is Assassin’s Creed Shadows. The game was originally scheduled for release near the end of 2024, but that was moved for the beginning of 2025. And now, the release of Assassin’s Creed Shadows is postponed once more.
Assassin’s Creed franchise was due to make a game set in Japan. Everyone was hyped when Ubisoft declared that Assassin’s Creed Shadows is set in medieval Japan, the home of Ninjas, the most famous assassins in the world. Even though the game was riddled with controversies (mostly due to the choice of protagonists), it was one of the most anticipated games of today. Unfortunately, the fans will have to anticipate it a bit longer.
The Release Date for Assassin’s Creed Shadows Postponed for an “Extra Month”
The original release date was November 12, 2024, but that was moved to February 14, 2025, with the reasoning behind it being to “provide additional time to further polish the title”. Ubisoft claims that they needed more time to properly release the biggest and most ambitious entry in the franchise.
And now, almost a month away from the second release date, Ubisoft announced that Assassin’s Creed: Shadows will be postponed even further. “Additionally, we are all behind our teams’ efforts to create the most ambitious Assassin’s Creed opus of the franchise and made the decision to provide an extra month of development to Shadows in order to better incorporate the player feedback gathered over the past three months that will enable us to fully deliver on the potential of the game and finish the year on a strong note.” Allegedly, the next release date is March 20.
No doubt the fans are truly miffed about this. This many delays are usually not a good sign so whatever the reasoning behind this is, the fans are growing more and more skeptical.
