Player visits the Fort Ruins in Palworld

This community is one of the most wholesome ones in the gaming world. The players are always there for each other, through hardship and dreams for the future. It isn’t rare to see more experienced players share useful advice with their co-players. The latest update gave the players some cool new traits and the Palworld community came up with some tips on how to get the best out of the Nocturnal Trait.

Palworld Players Gladly Give Out Their Best Tips

Since it appeared in the game, many players have been praising this Trait. Lyioux said: “Nocturnal definitely deserves to be a Gold Passive. When you don’t sleep, it essentially doubles your output from any Worker Pal. I’ve been getting all my Ranchers to 4 stars with Nocturnal (not much else seems to matter for them) and the output is incredible”.

Other-Success-2060 advised: “I found Nocturnal to be a good choice if I’m spending a lot of time in caves and exploring”. Another player, corkyrooroo, gave a useful tip. They said: “Nocturnal has been fantastic for my Oil Farm Orserks”.

Slicebu**Dice confirmed: “Our Orserks with Nocturnal/Workaholic/Artisan/Serious have been carrying our Oil production on a dedicated server. Took me a while to breed them for those passives but definitely worth it for my guild. Nocturnal passive is definitely worth it on certain productive Pals on active multiplayer servers since you can’t just sleep and skip the night”.

PPlover239 offered their two cents: “I’m breeding it onto certain Pals like Lyleen so she plants all night. The best Harvester is Frostallion Noct so it makes sense. Then, obviously, I need to do Jormuntide so it works that they do it all night. But others I’m just leaving it beside 1 of my Anubis just so there’s a Crafter at night”.

Are There Instances When You Shouldn’t Use Nocturnal Trait on Your Palworld Pal?

Several players expressed concern over their Pals’ sanity loss due to the lack of sleep. WhysTheUsernameGone offered some reassuring words. They noted: “If you’re feeding your Pals cooked food, sanity won’t be an issue. Assuming default day/night cycles however, Nocturnal ends up being roughly the same as Lucky in terms of productiveness”.

They added: “So Artisan/Serious/Workslave/Lucky is still a good combo for most pals. However, I would aim for Artisan/Serious/Workslave/Nocturnal for Cooling and Electric Pals. You want your Oil extractors up 24/7, and your Cooler Pal to keep your food fresh during the night”.

Among the Nocturnal Trait appreciators, there were a couple of players who warned the rest of the community of some downsides. Academic-Summer-6011 advised: “Don’t get into the Nocturnal hype if you are doing lots of breeding. I admit it is good for multiplayer servers when you cannot sleep to pass the time. However, if you are playing single-player, just know that going to sleep is still better for breeding due to the whole temperature factor”.

We’d suggest you try out other approaches as well, the Nocturnal Trait is still quite new in Palworld so the tips might help, but you might discover a great use of it on your own. This game offers the players a lot of opportunities to experiment and create something new. There is no exact formula on how to play so use that freedom to explore as much as you can.
