How to Perform Mercy in Mortal Kombat 1
You can easily perform mercy using just a few simple controls in MK1. To start, you’ll first need to defeat your opponent in combat. This can stretch two or three rounds depending on how close the fight is. Once you’ve depleted the opposing fighter’s health, you’ll have a chance to finish them off with a finishing move.
Following the Finish Him directive, you’ll need to step back to show mercy. Press down your left joystick three times to complete the action. You should see your opponent’s health replenished just a bit, lending them a final opportunity to get a hit in. Of course, this doubly serves as another chance for you to deliver the fatal blow.
When to Use Mercy in Mortal Kombat 1
While showing your opponent mercy in an MK1 match may sound like a kind thing to do, there are plenty of other reasons why players might want to use this mechanic. One of the most common uses seen in online matches is to gloat or otherwise humble the opposing player. At least, that’s the nice way to put it. The objective here is to let your opponent get up only to finish them off in the most brutal way possible.
