Playing all types of games was extremely exciting when I was a kid. Whether it was space games, shooting games, or anything. But I was not in control of what I was allowed to play. Only my parents would say I could play this game or that. So for Star Citizen, if I were a parent, the first thing I would look up would be whether it is safe for kids.

Can Children Play Star Citizen?
Robert Space Industries have thought about children playing Star Citizen a lot, and to ensure a safe gaming environment, they have established age restrictions in their Terms of Service.
Section II – Your RSI Account of the ToS read that players must be at least 13 years old or have parental consent.
THE RSI SERVICES ARE NOT DIRECTED AT CHILDREN UNDER 13 YEARS OF AGE, NOR DO WE KNOWINGLY COLLECT INFORMATION FROM CHILDREN UNDER 13 YEARS OF AGE. IF YOU HAVE ALLOWED YOUR CHILD TO ACCESS ANY OF THE RSI SERVICES, PLEASE ENSURE THAT, IF YOUR CHILD IS UNDER 13 YEARS OF AGE, THEY DO NOT SUBMIT ANY PERSONALLY IDENTIFIABLE INFORMATION TO US.

With this in mind, the choice is ultimately down to the parents. It is safe for children to play Star Citizen, but weigh the pros and cons and decide if they should allow their young child to explore galaxies in ships and fight in enemy battles using gun turrets.
Keep in mind that Robert Space Industries and the developers Cloud Imperium Games have taken every precaution to create a safe environment for young children in Star Citizen.
What Safety Measures Are in Place for Kids in Star Citizen?
Since Star Citizen is an online multiplayer game, and while many safety measures are in place, many settings are on by default, such as global chat and proximity chat. Many players want to interact with each other while exploring space. However, as parents, you need to monitor this, as not everyone will be friendly and PG.
RBI has enabled players to disable chat and turn off proximity voice chat for those who do not want to interact with other players. But this can come with consequences, as some players will target those who will not respond to them via any form of communication.
RBI feels very strongly about these players and encourages the community to report inappropriate behaviors or harassment. Robert Spaces Industries Terms of Service state this, as do their developers Cloud Imperium Games, in their Privacy Report.
