With over 10 years since Final Fantasy XIV was first released, it has gone on to become one of the most loved MMORPGs of all time. However, Xbox players have yet to get the chance to play the game as it hasn’t made its way to Microsoft’s console yet.
With the game still being supported, however, many fans of the Final Fantasy series are wondering if it’ll be released on Xbox.
We’re here to go through everything we know about this to determine once and for all whether FFXIV will ever be on Xbox.
Will FFXIV Come To Xbox?
As we mentioned, it has been over 10 years since Final Fantasy 14 was first released on both the PC and PS3. It has since then gone on to get versions for both the PS4 as well as the PS5, but it has yet to come on any Xbox console.
Back in 2019, Phil Spencer, the head of Xbox, said they would continue to coordinate with Square Enix to ensure FFXIV eventually makes its way to the Xbox consoles. However, they went no contact regarding this statement after that until the end of 2022 when he said Microsoft and Square Enix were still coming to an agreement.

Although this did get the hopes of Xbox fans up, it should be noted that Final Fantasy 7 Remake still hasn’t come to Xbox, despite being a timed exclusive. Additionally, a bunch of other Square Enix games (like Final Fantasy 16 and Forspoken) are also Playstation exclusives.
So, will Final Fantasy XIV be coming to Xbox? It seems like Microsoft is still trying to make it happen but seeing as how so many other games haven’t come to Xbox yet despite them allegedly being timed exclusives, the chances seem slim. Therefore, if you were planning to transfer your PC account to your Xbox, then you might want to cancel your FFXIV subscription for now.
We recommend you don’t get your hopes up, though it would be amazing for Xbox players to be able to experience this amazing game as well.
