Colossal Order is all set to release the PC version of their city-building title, Cities Skylines 2. The sequel is expected to feature significant improvements in terms of management systems, size in population, and the AI being used. Another thing to look out for is the added content that is set to go live on specified dates revealed by its game developer.
Such updates will surely pique the interest of players who have a penchant for this type of game. However, some are musing if the sequel will be having a multiplayer mode which will be answered below.
Will Cities Skylines 2 Have a Multiplayer Mode?
Unfortunately, there won’t be a multiplayer mode for the upcoming sequel. This was made known by Colossal Order back in March when they held a Q&A about Cities Skylines 2.
According to the developer, the game is their “most ambitious project to date,” as it expands on every mechanic in the franchise. To that end, Colossal stated that introducing multiplayer support will “take an incredible amount of time and resources that would take away from building the core player experience” that they are trying to create.
Such a response from the developer sure is frustrating to players who are keeping their fingers crossed that a multiplayer mode would be added to the game. Whatever Colossal’s reason for such a decision is probably for the best.

Will Cities Skylines 2 Have Co Op Mode?
No, Cities Skylines 2 will not have co op mode and will be a single player game. It sure is saddening that both multiplayer and co-op play will not be present in the new city-builder.
