If you’re hoping to survive Atomic Heart’s world of deadly robots, you have to know how to throw objects using the glove. You can throw things to catch a Dandelion Security Camera’s attention, allowing you to pass by.
Needless to say, it’s an essential skill. Here’s how to throw things in Atomic Heart.
How To Use Telekinesis in Atomic Heart
It can be a little tricky, but follow these steps to do it:
- Look at an object
- Press the same button you would to scan (Alt on PC, R1 on PS5, and RB on Xbox Series X|S) and hold that down.
- When the animation for picking up the object ends, release the button.
- This counterintuitive part is what makes you drop it so often.
- When the animation for picking up the object ends, release the button.
- Aim at the place you want to throw the object
- Hold the scan button down
- If you only press the button, you’ll drop it wherever it’s hovering.
- Release the button when your glove starts vibrating
- Holding it for longer does nothing. The distance you throw is based on how far down you press the button.

Don’t rely on the game’s tutorial; it will only briefly explain how to throw objects and never mention it again.
You can’t use this to grab living beings or anything heavy (until you level up this skill). This only works for lighter boxes, crates, and other smaller objects.
It is difficult at first because you need to time when you release the button after the animation. Once you get that part down, it’s really easy.
There are multiple uses for this, even though the game only mentions it as useful for distracting cameras. Check whether a puzzle requires your telekinesis whenever you encounter it, as this can save you a lot of time.
