Clan Tags have always been a big part of your social profile in the Call of Duty series, and this is no different in the revamp of MW2. Having matching clan tags is a great way to show your strategic and skill mastery of a game with your group of friends, whether you’re grinding ranked matches or running amok in the DMZ.
But how do you change your clan tag in this new iteration of Modern Warfare? Here’s a guide to show you how to edit your clan tag, on PC, Xbox, and PlayStation
Ways to Change Your Clan Tag in MW2
You can change your clan tag in MW2 by going to your progression tab and selecting the edit clan tag button, or by going to the social tab and viewing your showcase options, which includes changing your clan tag.
Two Methods To Change Your Clan Tag in MW2
The first is the simpler of the two options:
- Open your menu by hitting the menu button (Xbox), the options button (PlayStation), or by clicking the menu icon (PC).
- Use RB (Xbox) or R1 (PlayStation) to move your selection over to the Progression Tab, or click on the Progression icon on PC. This tab is the one furthest on the right.
- Under this icon, you will find three options. Select the Edit Clan Tag option to change your clan tag.

The second option starts by opening the menu the same way as in the previous method:
- Press the menu button (Xbox), Options button (PlayStation), or click on the menu tab (PC).
- Select the Social tab from the menu options shown.
- Use RB (Xbox) or R1 (PlayStation) to select the Showcase tab, or just click on the Showcase tab on PC.
- This will bring up your online friends list, with your own name at the top of the list. Select your own name, then select Edit Showcase.
- Select the Edit Clan Tag option to change your clan tag.
After using either method, you can edit your clan tag using any combination of five letters and numbers. Remember that no profane or hateful language is allowed in your tag, but otherwise, there are no limits. Pick something that shows the strength and style of your clan, and wear it proudly in your next match!
