To catch fish in Tears of the Kingdom, just head to the nearest water source and begin your search. Lakes and ponds can be found throughout the kingdom of Hyrule, so you won’t have any trouble locating a body of water suitable enough for fishing. Just hop in or stand close to the edge and interact with the fish to catch them.
Luckily, you won’t need a pole or lure, either. Link is fully capable of grabbing any nearby fish to use in recipes or restoring armor.

Where Can You Find Fish in Tears of the Kingdom?
Most fish can be found in the bodies of water throughout Tears of the Kingdom. You’ll find them scattered about the landscape from very early on, so catching fish shouldn’t pose too much of a problem. Just survey the water sources you stumble upon to find fish and catch them.
If you’re in search of specific fish like the Glowing Cave Fish, however, you’ll need to head to the North Hyrule Plain Cave. In contrast, the Ancient Arowana can be found near both the Nachoyah and Ihen-a Shrines.
What Do Fish Do in Tears of the Kingdom?
In Tears of the Kingdom, fish can be used to cook food. Depending on the meal you’ve prepared, you’ll be granted some convenient effects ranging from restored health to a rise in body temperature.
Apart from being used as ingredients in recipes, fish can sometimes be used to restore armor. Such is the case in repairing the Zora Armor, for which you’ll need an Ancient Arowana fish.
