“There Are So Many Cheaters Now!” What to Do When You Notice Somene’s Cheating in Helldivers 2?

A Helldivers 2 player looks up at the flag.

Over the last month, the player numbers have significantly risen. The Heart of Democracy update and the Battle for Super Earth brought back many players, and even some new Helldivers joined in. That’s wonderful, and everyone is happy that Helldivers 2 is finally doing well, however, the number of cheating players has also grown. So, how does cheating look, and what do you do when you encounter cheaters?

Helldivers Are Noticing More and More Cheaters

Recently, we’ve noticed many Helldivers complaining about cheaters and being pulled into cheating by their teammates. This usually means a teammate will cheat, giving other players lots of Super Credits and getting a bunch of Stratagems active, allowing for an easy win.

One player, grimjimslim, shared their experiences on Reddit. They noted: “I play from Australia during the day, and I am constantly quick joining Chinese squads. Out of the 6 games I’ve joined today, 5 of them included someone cheating”.

The OP listed all the forms of cheating they had encountered. Players would sprint incredibly fast, unavailable Stratagems suddenly became available, one-click Stratagems, hundreds of Super Credits per match, and empty resupply pods with SCs buried underneath.

What to Do If You Encounter Cheating Helldivers?

There are a few things one can do when they encounter players who are cheating in Helldivers 2. The ever-helpful community eagerly offered advice on how to deal with cheaters.

SublimeBear offered the best tips. They noted: “If I get into a match with cheaters, I make screenshots, report them for cheating (I never got told I cannot by the game, so I don’t know what your problem there is), I block them, and leave to the Super Destroyer. I then open a ticket on the Zendesk to explain I inadvertently profited from cheating players and report the amount of SC I received during the match, and ask them to ‘please advise'”.

So, even if you are among players whose report feature doesn’t work in-game, you can report the cheaters to Zendesk (Arrowhead support). Also, don’t worry, you won’t get banned if you’re affected by cheating, the Zendesk devs will sort it all out.

Furthermore, if you encounter so many cheaters that it gets annoying to quit, try hosting. Then, you can just kick the cheaters and continue on your merry way. ThePinkyBandit suggested: “If you’re the host, you can waste their time by ‘abandon mission with squad’, and it will force their game to end too. Then kick and report”.

Hopefully, some of these tips will make your life easier. Helldivers should earn Super Credits for the new Warbond, not acquire them illegally. So, good luck and see you out there. For Liberty and Super Earth.
