With Liberty Day just around the corner, Joel decided to raise the steaks. As you know, several storylines are approaching their ends. The players sort of expected all the storylines to have a grand finish around Liberty Day, however that might not happen after all. The new Major Order urges the Helldivers 2 players to make a tough choice between the DSS (Democracy Space Station) and the Tyranny Park (Terminid Research Preserve).
New Major Order Posses a Dilemma for Helldivers
On the evening of October 23, a new Major Order came in. The Discord announcement read: “After countless acts of heroic sacrifice, the advance of the Jet Brigade has at last been arrested. Many planets have been ravaged: Matar Bay. Others. These atrocities will not be forgotten”.
It continued: “The efforts of our heroes were not in vain: the Automatons’ brutish venture to discover the location of the DSS and its critical substations has yielded nothing. Alas, there is little pause to the Galactic War, and a new dilemma is presented to the Helldivers: Create a protective buffer zone around the DSS, or defend the Terminid Research Preserve on Acamar IV to secure its vital fuel potential? Which objective to pursue is a difficult decision, one which High Command leaves in the capable and united hands of the Helldivers”.
Joel gave players a choice between liberating Lesath or defending against 3 Terminid attacks. Interestingly enough, players have until Liberty Day (midnight, CEST) to complete one of these options. So, choose your front, take your trusty Purifier, and join your fellow Helldivers.
Helldivers Have to Choose Between the DSS and Tyranny Park
At the time of writing this article, the players are still split between two fronts. This Major Order could make or break the Helldivers 2 community as they pick between Tyranny Park and the DSS. Currently, around 10k brave Helldivers are on Lesath. At the same time, around 7k divers are defending Gacrux and Pandion-XXIV.
Many players are strictly for liberating Lesath. FantasticMarzipan680 noted: “I’ve fought long and hard on Lesath. It is about damn time we secured this block of ice. See yall planetside, SES Soul of Family Values will stay till it’s done”. Another player, st0rmagett0n, added: “Dive on Lesath! We can’t afford to lose the DSS! Don’t worry about Acamar IV. If something bad happens there, Managed Democracy will….uh….find a way to make it right”.
On the other hand, many Helldivers can’t fight on the bot front anymore. Raven-C explained: “I do want to defend the DSS. I’m just burnt out from fighting bots a bit after defending 3-4 bot planets back to back. I miss squishing bugs beneath my boot. I will return by the end of the MO to do my tour against the bots tho”.
Furthermore, some players don’t care for story progress. Tast_ said: “I am a simple diver. I see a defense objective, I dive. I just want to plug myself into the gap and hold off wave after wave of filthy, stinking enemies of democracy. Organic, metal, or otherwise, I simply desire to be the rock upon which the waves of tyranny break”.
While we hope Helldivers will complete both objectives, it might be difficult. Therefore, we’d suggest you join us as soon as possible, and we can complete this Major Order together. So, we’ll see you there. For Liberty and Super Earth.
