Is the Current Helldivers 2 Major Order Progress Too Slow?

The new Major Order is in progress and it’s a big one. After dropping the new Warbond and the new patch, Helldivers 2 developers gave the players 7 days to complete a huge Major Order but the progress is slow. Two days in, it seems the players are struggling. Will it be ‘slow and steady wins the race’ or will the players suffer a major loss?

New Major Order Requires New Tactics to Progress

Official Helldivers 2 account on X stated the details of the MO on June 15. The Major Order declared: “It’s time to go bug hunting, Helldivers. Cleanse the Terminid nurseries with the new Hive Breaker Drill to prepare these planets for settlement”. The planets in question are Hellmire, Nivel 43, Crimsica, Estanu, and Fori Prime.

After fighting Automatons, players rejoiced at the chance to squish some bugs. Since five is a lot of planets to liberate, dedicated Helldivers jumped straight to discussing tactics. One-Cartographer-551 came up with a plan. They explained: “If you want to complete the Major Order, you’re better off focusing on the most populated planet. Because at least 20k people have been on Hellmire and Estanu since the start of Major Order and both are less than 1% liberated. It’s obvious not much progress is being made. We have 33 and a half hours to spend on each planet.”

Unfortunately, the progress has been quite slow, at the time of writing this article, two days in, the players have liberated just one planet, Crimsica. There is still time, but given the limited progress during the weekend, the prognosis is grim. After liberating Crimsica, it seems that the players can’t agree on which planet to liberate next.

Some players think the logical next move would be to fight on Estanu. Others explained that liberating Hellmire first would help Liberate Estanu. Shushady noted: “The most efficient way to do this would be to start at Hellmire. It has the lowest regen and taking it would reduce the regen of Estanu, which would in turn reduce the regen of Crimsica”. These details not being listed in-game prevents regular players from choosing the best way to complete the Major Order.

Some Helldivers 2 Players Find the Game too Slow

Some Helldivers reported it was tiresome to liberate the same planets time after time again. Grand-Lychee9977 said: “For the entire time this game has been out, I’ve seen other Helldivers claim that it’s becoming boring and the same. I’ve never quite disagreed but enjoyed it nonetheless. However, with this new major order, I think that we as a community, should just say no. How many times are we expected the liberate the exact same few planets over and over? It’s not actually changing anything”.

Internal_Ad_4586 expressed high hopes for the future. They stated: “I think the initial launch issues and insane player numbers probably meant they had to throw out whatever road map they had planned. So they probably thought “Right, we gotta expand our plans. Just keep ’em busy with bots and bugs while we conjure up a new road map”. Keep the faith diver. Big things are coming”.

Obviously, some Helldivers are hoping for the Illuminate to grace us with their presence. A player, MattZee_, said: “Agreed. But standby Helldiver, the Illuminate are coming”. Ever since the Dark Fluid Major Order, players have been wishing for the Illuminate to come through the supposed black hole. Hopefully, they’ll be here soon.

Until then, Helldivers 2 players still have just enough time to improve the slow progress and complete the Major Order, by liberating Hellmire, Estanu, Nivel 43, and Fori Prime. We hope Crimsica will keep its liberated status. And then, who knows? Maybe the Illuminate will pop by and shake things up a bit. We’re looking forward to it.
