The devs have been quite mysterious lately! It’s been a while since the previous big update, there haven’t been any leaks, and Helldivers have no idea what the devs are cooking. Well, some observant players might have noticed some patterns that could help predict the future, like with the return of the Jet Brigade back in January. So, how will the Second Galactic War develop in Helldivers 2? Only time will tell for sure, but some Helldivers have certain events in mind.
How Will the Next Phase of the Second Galactic War Play Out?
As you certainly remember, Helldivers lost Angel’s Venture back in February. Several days later, they went into the Gloom for the very first time. A month later, Moradesh fell, and some players are sure that the next Major Order will send the Helldivers back into the Gloom.
One player, 231923, suggested: “First we did an expedition into the Gloom so we can get more E-710. Then we executed the first step of the 3-way plan of stopping the wormhole: doing a blockade around it. (I know we failed but the partial blockade is still there). Then second, we will build the energy siphon to drain dark energy using a lot of E-710. We will have to fuel the Siphon as well and it was foreshadowed that we will go back to the Gloom to stop Meridia so we most likely will do”.
The OP explained that once the Helldivers stopped the Meridian Singularity, the Squids would have to reveal themselves. You see, the Squids have been using the wormhole to push their agenda. But, when that’s taken away from them, the rest of the Illuminate roster would finally join the Second Galactic War.
Helldivers 2 Players Add to the Theory About the War
It’s been more than a year since the Second Galactic War started, and Helldivers 2 players have had enough time to figure out the mechanics. Many players agreed with OP’s theory, but some contributed with what they thought would happen.
AncientAurora noted: “We will almost stop Meridia with the rocket sip. Then, the rocket will be destroyed by Illuminate ships, finally uncloaking and revealing themselves. They will then destroy the blockade. There will be a massive uptick of invaded worlds and Dark Energy will finally reach 100%. Then, they will teleport Meridia closer to Super Earth and launch their full invasion”.
This might be far-fetched, but this player hopes for lots of new upgrades, new gear, and of course, another rework of the DSS. No one knows what the future holds, but one thing is for sure – Helldivers are one step closer to finding out. The previous Major Order was a success!
