It’s finally here! The long-expected new biome has arrived. The players got it wrong, you can’t get to X-45 to see it (not yet, at least). For now, Helldivers 2 players can test out the new biome on Gacrux, in the Jin Xi Sector. The players rushed to check it out and shared their first impressions.
Helldivers Share Their Honest First Impressions of the Gacrux Biome
MsrSgtShooterPerson reported: “I tried it just now and it’s seriously the most beautiful biome so far for me – forget Angel’s Venture or Malevelon – I will die for this beautiful planet”. To be honest, the planet is gorgeous. Luscious green forests as far as you can see.
JoiousTrousers92 noted: “Love it! I’m tired of barren open plains. Having to actually plan your stratagems for the environment is amazing”. TransientMemory added: “The trees are going to swallow a lot of Eagle strikes. That single 500kg bomb? It’s now a tree topper. Better luck next time”.
In our own experience, the foliage is extremely thick. We had to put in a real effort just to move. So, we’d suggest trying out the Muscle Enhancement Booster. One player, ToffeeAppleChooChoo, showed how with a little luck and, obviously, a lot of skill, you can even hide in the trees. That could come in handy if you encounter a swarm of bugs.
As of the time of writing this article, the only available planet with the new biome is on the Terminid front. Which makes sense, bugs in the jungle. However, many players expressed their impatience to fight Automatons in this vegetation. DuncanConnell said: “I honestly can’t wait until we get some Bot planets like this. Seeing the red glow through the trees is going to be freaky as hell”. The best possible candidate for that could be the mysterious X-45.
The New Biome Might Doom the Major Order
Many players wondered why Joel picked to present us with the new biome when the time was running out on the current Major Order. Helldivers still have to liberate two more planets, Fori Prime and Nivel 43. If the current progression stays the same, the players will be victorious. Unfortunately, the numbers have been dropping steadily, as Helldivers 2 players are too excited not to check out the new biome on Gacrux.
Some players called for their fellow soldiers to join them and finish the Major Order. One player, 7heapogee, said: “If we complete the Major Order we’ll still have access to the planet, all divers rally to Fori Prime”. Well, the majority declared they would rather explore the jungle.
APsWhoopinRoom explained: “The most important thing about the game is that we have fun! We shouldn’t get so hung up on MOs that we forget to go out and enjoy the new stuff in the game. It’s AH’s fault for not putting the MO on a planet with a new biome”. Another player, imjustkarmin, added: “Sorry, I’ve been diligently knocking out MOs for months now, time to enjoy big jungle”.
We understand both sides. Trying to fulfill the Major Order for almost a week, liberating Hellmire, all so you’d lose at the finish line, well, that’s really upsetting. On the other side, those jungles are so cool, everything is shiny and brand new. We’d suggest you follow your needs. If it’s too much to fight the same battle for days, give the MO a rest and go for a stroll in the jungle. You can always rejoin. And, this game is meant to be fun for you, so you do what suits you. There will be other Major Orders.
