The players can’t stop talking about the Helldivers 2 movie, announced at the CES 2025 press conference recently. There are so many choices that could make or break the movie. The cast is probably the biggest dilemma for Helldivers. Should the cast be made out of A-list actors, or would it be better for the actors to be unknown? The Arrowhead CEO offered his hilarious idea for the casting, and we’re sure the Helldivers 2 movie would be amazing if they manage to pull off this idea.
The CEO Shares a Devious Idea for the Movie
As you know, Helldivers have been discussing their dream casts ever since the movie was announced. It would surely be cool to see some of our favorite big names in the movie, but many insist this would change the narrative. Helldivers 2 is all about teamwork and all Helldivers participate equally. So, having all the attention on just one protagonist, or one team wouldn’t feel authentic.
Shams Jorjani, the CEO of Arrowhead, weighed in on the topic. While answering some questions on the official Discord channel, Jorjani revealed his preference. He noted: “We’re all hoping for as many A-list actors as possible – as long as they all get killed violently immediately”.
Truth be told, we find this idea to be absolutely perfect. We’d like to see as many cameos as possible. Helldivers mostly agree. One of them, h0ls86, pointed out: “If they die fast then you don’t have to pay them as much for acting. Now that’s value”.
Helldivers 2 Players Share Their Stance on the Movie Cast
Many Helldivers 2 players agree with the CEO and they would love to see some famous actors briefly appear in the movie. However, the consensus is that it would be more fun if there was a twist in which less-known actors would take over.
DarahOG suggested: “The movie starts with the Hollywood power couples The Rock and Kevin Hart, Tom Holland, and Zendaya. They die within 7mins on Mavelon. We then follow John Helldiver, Body type B, Body type A, and Body type B in a suicide rescue mission”.
DamnDude030 added: “Sounds like a solid plan. A death montage of famous actors going out against the Terminids, clankers, and Illuminate should be fun. But, I do hope whoever gets to be cast as the main crew of Helldivers are no-name actors who can get a chance to make it big”.
We know that there are plenty of Hollywood actors who don’t mind doing a funny cameo, so this could work. Keeping the main cast mainly anonymous would also provide for a more immersive experience, and contribute to that dark humor all Helldivers love.
