If you’re excited to play alongside friends in Granblue Fantasy: Relink, then you’re probably wondering whether it has crossplay support. We have the answer here.

In Granblue Fantasy: Relink, you’ll put together a rag-tag team of characters to travel alongside and take on bosses throughout the Sky Realm. You’ll unlock a variety of skilled and diverse characters as you move through the main story, lending you plenty of options for party members. That said, you can also choose to team up with friends in online multiplayer co-op to come up with the best strategies to move forward. Available to play on PlayStation and PC, is Granblue Fantasy: Relink crossplay? The answer isn’t quite that simple. Here’s what we know.

Granblue Fantasy: Relink PS5 Collector’s
  • Includes artbook, a soundtrack CD, a set of postcards, and in-game DLC including Starter Item Pack, Character Color Packs 1-3, and the weapon ‘False Sword of the Apocalypse,’ and a ‘Sword of Eos’ keychain measuring almost 4” long and a ‘Proto Bahamut’ statue figure measuring over 4.5” tall and 6.5” wide (excluding base)
  • 3D artwork with detailed character models and expressive facial animations that bring the rich history of the Sky Realm to life like never before
  • Choose from diverse characters, being sure to consider each character’s unique talent trees, weapons, sigils, and Skybound Arts
  • Assist modes ensure there’s an accessible play style for gamers of all skill levels
  • Enjoy a complete single-player experience or jump online with up to three friends for co-op multiplayer action to tackle more than 100 side quests

While Granblue Fantasy: Relink supports multiplayer, the answer as to whether it’s crossplay isn’t so cut and dry. Those who are playing on PlayStation consoles can, in fact, join up, travel together, and take on bosses as a team. This works even if one player is on PS4 and the other is on PS5. However, those playing on PC can’t join or invite friends on Sony’s systems, limiting their teammates to other PC gamers.

It’s possible that we could see full crossplay support added down the line, though we’ve yet to receive any announcements from Cygames on the matter. In the meantime, players will need to team up with others who are on the same gaming platform.

Otherwise, you can also opt for a single-player playthrough, leaning on NPC party members along the way. With your choice of 19 different characters to recruit, this isn’t necessarily a bad thing. Whether you’re on a team with friends or going solo, be sure to assemble the best party for each quest to get the upper hand.
