Fortnite Player Brings Back an Iconic Chapter 1 Strategy To Win Games

There are many ways and strats players use to win Fortnite matches. Sometimes it’s just down to sheer skill or luck, but sometimes it’s a strategy that no one seems to be able to counter. Welcome back to Chapter 1 meta, courtesy of Tireguy bringing back the “skybasing” strat.
Looks Like Skybasing Is Still a Winning Strat in Fortnite
Popular Fortnite content creator and streamer Tireguy has showcased how to win games by using an old favourite strategy. As shown in his video on Reddit, he’s using Primal Companion and a Repeater Rifle to set up on high and thermal vision to score some amazing shots.
It takes some skill to perform this sort of gameplan effectively. It fell out of favor with the advent of No-Build mode and different ways to destroy structures or knock players off their perch. But when it works, it works splendidly, as can be seen by the showcase.
As expected, fans of both Fortnite and Tireguy are excited by the strategy. He was even able to dispel some of the confusion: “I love the seemingly random loadout. Gun, fireflies, corn, and mushrooms”, wondered Novacgal, but he explained the process “Gotta keep Billy’s stamina alive with the corn and mushrooms – there’s a method to the madness”.
Some players have suggested using Shockwave Grenades to counter the strat, but that largely depends on the circumstances. As Effective-Interest28 points out “[…] Shockwave grenades generally protect against fall damage, right?” However, just the ability to nullify and counter the strategy is a win by itself.
Another way to counter it is by building roofs on your structures since it’s obviously Build mode. You can counter building by building. Still, it’s a very cool strategy that you can adopt in your own games. Let us know how it’s working out for you if you try it.
