Nitro is a new power-up in Fortnite Wrecked. Besides the advantages it offers, you also need it for a couple of quests, so let’s see how to get it.

  • Nitro Splash – This is a “consumable” that you find all over the map. You can find it on the ground, when opening a chest, or in any other way that grants general loot. Throw the Nitro Splash on yourself or your car to get the Nitro buff.
  • Nitro Barrels – Barrels are the “static” sources of Nitro. They can be found all across the map, but usually in places where you modify and refuel vehicles – gas stations and the like. Smashing a Nitro Barrel (either with your Pickaxe or by driving over it) will grant you the Nitro buff.
  • Flaming Boost Hoops – These hoops are large flaming rings scattered all over the Island. You can pass through them (either on foot or in a car) and you will get the Nitro buff.
  • Wasteland Warriors Boss Cars – Each of the three new Bosses in Fortnite Wrecked has its own car. When you defeat them, they will drop a Medallion that you can use to open their personal garage and steal their ride. Each Boss car is under the effects of Nitro indefinitely.
  • Megalo Don’s Medallion – besides opening garages, each Medallion grants you a unique bonus. The Medallion that you get when you defeat Megalo Don grants you a constant Nitro buff.

The effects of Nitro depend on whether it is applied to the player or the vehicle. If you are under the effects of Nitro, your character portrait/stamina bar will turn fiery orange, and you will see flames around your feet. If the vehicle is Nitro-fied, the fuel bar will change color, and the wheels will start to burn.
