When Is Final Fantasy XVI Coming Out?
The Final Fantasy XVI release date is currently scheduled for Thursday, June 22, 2023. The game will releasing exclusively for PS5 on that date. Final Fantasy 16 is expected to come to the PC at some point in the future, but the game will be exclusive to PS5 for six months, according to the game’s producer Naoki Yoshida.
Players will be able to choose to buy a Standard Edition or Deluxe Edition both physically and digitally, and there will be a Collector’s Edition that is only available physically. The Collector’s Edition comes with a premium statue, metal pin collection, a steelbook case, cloth map of Valisthea, Blood Sword DLC, and a digital artbook and soundtrack.
What Is Final Fantasy XVI About?
Final Fantasy 16 takes place in the world of Valisthea, consisting of two continents that use magic crystals called Mothercrystals that power the various kingdoms with aether energy. The game starts with the kingdoms of the world at war with each other over the depletion of the resource, known as the Blight.
The game follows Clive Rosfield, a royal family member and bodyguard to his younger brother Joshua. His brother has the power of the Phoenix in him, and shares it with Clive following tragic events that happen that set the party on a quest for revenge.
