Wondering how long it takes to beat Fae Farm? Stick around. We’ve outlined about how much time you’ll need to set aside to complete daily tasks and progress through the enchanting new title.
Released on September 8 for Nintendo Switch and PC, Fae Farm is the latest farm sim RPG from Phoenix Labs. The game features several genre trademarks, like romance options, cooking, and crafting, all within the magical world of Azoria. Fans of the genre might compare the new release to similar titles, like Stardew Valley and Animal Crossing: New Horizons.
It’s easy to spend hours curating your homestead, crafting items and potions, and choosing the best gifts for your favorite marriage candidates. However, Fae Farm’s plot adds a captivating new twist to otherwise endless farming and dungeon-crawling elements, extending gameplay. Here’s how long you can expect to play.
- Cozy and customizable: Create your own character and customize your adventure with unlockable styles and decorations for your farm. The cozier your home, the better your experience!
- Magical Creatures: As you tend your farm, you can care for a variety of cuddly animals where you can collect eggs, wool, and more.
- Adventure is at your doorstep: Explore the realms of Azoria as you traverse the island with your skills and spells. Forage caves to gather resources and battle jumbles! Progress at your own pace as you uncover new mysteries and restore peace to Azoria.
- Budding Friendships: Azoria is home to a cast of colorful characters! As you progress through the story, you can build bonds with many islanders along the way. You can even find romance by going on dates and eventually getting married at Town Hall.
- One for all: You can play on your own or with up to 3 of your friends online or over local wireless.
How Long is Fae Farm?
It’s not yet known exactly how long it will take your average gamer to beat Fae Farm, but fans of the genre estimate that completing the game will require around 40 hours of gameplay. That said, the story functions independently from the in-game calendar, so you’ll be able to play at your own pace.
It’s certainly easy to log well over this gameplay estimate, considering the life sim masterfully brings magic to every facet of the game. From customizing your own character, to decorating your home, potion-making, and forging romantic relationships and friendships with NPCs, you’ll have your hands full with daily tasks and side-quests from the beginning of your adventure.
The more progress you make in the main story, the more decor and unlockable styles you’ll have access to for farm customization. Not to mention, you’ll meet new characters, new creatures, and unravel new mysteries on your path to creating the magical life of your dreams.
How Long is a Day in Fae Farm?
A single day in Fae Farm lasts roughly 18 minutes. This differs greatly from similar farming sims in the genre, namely Animal Crossing. Instead, I would compare the time mechanic to that of Harvest Moon.
Because the days are short, you’ll quickly see the in-game seasons change as time goes on. This will help you unlock new areas to explore and magical creatures to encounter in Azoria. That aside, you’ll also see efficient progress made in bonding with friends and marriage candidates as you complete daily tasks and give gifts. Just be sure to complete your to-do list within a day’s time. You’ll be directed to head to bed around 11 p.m. or so.
Does Fae Farm Follow a Plot?
Fae Farm features a story that unfolds as you complete dungeons in the game. What’s more, the plot is not tied to the in-game calendar, so you can venture through each of the three dungeons at your own pace. This is perhaps the biggest variable when it comes to how long it takes to beat the game. Just come prepared to take out enemies and gather materials in the process of exploring dungeons.
