How to Access Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree
You have to fulfill there are two requirements before you can access the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC. Two of the strong, late-game bosses stand between you and the entrance to the Land of Shadows. The first boss players need to take down is Starscourge Radahn, one of the most iconic fights in the game.
After Radahn is defeated, players have to locate and beat Mohg, Lord of Blood, in Mohgwyn Palace. Once both bosses are defeated, load the Mohgwyn Dynasty Mausoleum area again, and you will find the new NPC there named Leda. After interacting with Leda, touch Miquella’s arm to gain access to the Land of Shadows, this is how to start the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC in Elden Ring.
How to Get to Mohgwyn Palace
Mohgwyn Palace is a secret area in Elden Ring that can easily be missed during a standard playthrough. However, to play Shadow of the Erdtree, you must first locate and reach this destination. Because there is no conventional way to reach this location, players must use teleportation:
- Completing the Wight Mask Varre questline will get players a Pureblood Knight’s Medal, which can be used to teleport to the steps of Mohgwyn Palace, bringing players near the site of the grace checkpoint for the Dynasty Mausoleum Entrance.
- Alternatively, players can use the Waygate in Consecrated Showfield, located in the northeast region of Lands Between. Using this Waygate will teleport players to a dark cave, whose exit opens into Mohgwyn Palace.
