You can choose between being a Human or a Beastren, and there are four main Vocations to choose from: Archer, Fighter, Mage, and Thief. Dragon’s Dogma 2: What Is the Max Level
The maximum level in Dragon’s Dogma 2 is 999. This is a considerable change compared to the first game, where the max level was 200. That means it will take a lot of adventuring to reach it. Each level-up will automatically boost your stats, based on your equipped Vocation, and the same goes for your Main Pawn. It gains stats and levels in almost the same way as your main character, and it too is capped at Level 999. Remember that if you switch Vocations at any point during the game, your stats will rearrange accordingly.
Note that there is no cap on your stats. Your stats can be as high as you please, but most will end up between 400 and 500 at the end of the game.

What Is the Max Vocation Rank in Dragon’s Dogma 2
Differing greatly from the maximum Level, the max Vocation Rank that you can have is Rank 10. You level up your Vocation Rank by accumulating Discipline Points (DCP), which you also use to unlock different skills and abilities. Getting to the maximum Rank of your Vocation will be considerably easier than reaching the maximum Level with your Arisen.
