Whether you’re working with a premade pair or you’re just getting started on creating your characters, you’ll probably have a few questions about Pawn Inclinations. Serving as the basis for your Pawn’s AI, you can think of this like your companion’s personality. Naturally, you’ll want a partner that works well with your Vocation. So, how do Inclinations work? Here’s what you need to know.

What Do Pawn Inclinations Do in Dragon’s Dogma 2?

When you create your Main Pawn in Dragon’s Dogma 2, you’ll have the option to choose its Pawn Inclination. Right off the bat, this differs from the system utilized in the first installment, which assigned your Pawn an Inclination based on a questionnaire. In any case, this refers to the AI of your Pawn and the companions you’ll encounter on your playthrough.

Depending on which you choose, Inclination determines aspects of your Pawn like how willing they are to heal you or whether they’ll behave aggressively towards you and others. Your Pawn’s Inclination also offers up several actions unique to the AI you chose. Altogether, this essentially works as your companion’s demeanor.

As you might have guessed, certain Pawn Inclinations work better or worse with different Vocations. With this in mind, you’ll want to consider the abilities of your Arisen and Pawn companion to build complementary characters.

How Do You Change Pawn Inclination in Dragon’s Dogma 2?

Unfortunately, there’s no known way to alter the Inclination of your Pawn in Dragon’s Dogma 2. However, this doesn’t mean the feature won’t be added somewhere down the line. The original title, Dragon’s Dogma, featured a process to effectively change this aspect of your companion, so it’s certainly possible that Capcom will either implement this new feature altogether with a future patch or release it as DLC to buy in-game.
